Final Beta????

    There are a lot of threads about this new 'update' to the closed beta but I thought I'd created this one to share all that have gathered and all that I think about the topic.

    From what I can find it seems like they announced the third scale test(the one from last weekend) on here on a Thursday then it was released on Friday to Sunday. This week right before Thursday again, they have currently set everything up for the final beta for launch by realising this update which when you update changes the name of it to Sea Of Thieves Final Beta, it seems pointless to release the update if they weren't gonna start the final beta soon and it perfectly lines up with last weeks events but as it is a beta and not a scale test, I'd guess it would last even longer, if only a bit longer. It would be best if they released it at the weekend so they could get more results and feedback from more an increased number of people playing at the weekend. Lastly, there is only the end of this week and one other full week before full launch, if any bugs are discovered in the final beta, they need to give themselves about time to fix it (say about a full week, maybe?)

    Has it for anyone remained "Sea of Thieves Closed Beta" I do not see a "Final beta" out there. The closed beta wording one did update for me today.

    @death-by-pinga If you are playing on the Xbox console the text sometimes takes a while to update if at all. But you have got the final beta build.

    I have a feeling you are on the right track. I imagine they will let us see more content this time so we can see what works and what doesn't. I think if they wait until next weekend that doesn't give them much time to tweak things before the release. So I'd be willing to bet the final beta will be this weekend.

    I imagine we will get the same time frame this weekend and hopefully the full content!

    I'm also seeing Sea of Thieves Final Beta in the store on Pc - its downloading now. It wasn't in the insider hub like the last scale tests - I just searched the store for Sea of Thieves and it was there.

    @death-by-pinga You can put the game into windowed mode and there it says "Final Beta" instead of "Closed Beta" or "Scale Test".

    If it definitely is the final Beta which it looks like it is then it should definitely, using their words, have a 'wider' amount of content. They talked about it somewhere in the news section, I think its under an article about the scale tests.

    @durablegalaxy38 On the 10th, Xbox has a big event, and one of the main games they are going to talk about is Sea of Thieves. The update probably means that the final beta will go live on the 10th.

    All I would want to know is if this will be open or closed again..

    I want to bring as much friends as I can to this game! Eheh

    As stated previously, you can now find it in the xbox store as 'Sea of thieves final Beta' so I'd assume it's open. You should get them to find and download it to see. I'm not sure about on PC but if u need it, I'm sure there's someone who can help you find it their.

    If you go into the sea of Thieves news and then go down to the stress test article, a little ways down the article they promised more content in the final beta closer to release.

    I noticed this name change as I just started downloading it. I was wondering if it was being discussed yet. Here's hoping we can get back to playing in a couple of days!

    I haven't even got a chance to play it, I only become interested right after the torrid scale test ended, I don't think I've been more obsessed about game hough and in such a short space of time can't wait to play.

    Yeah pretty sure we'll have a beta this weekend. If you read the scale test news announcement from last weekend it clearly stated they planned on one more beta (not scale) before launch and I can't see them doing it 2-3 days before launch. Not too mention the fact we're getting an update that says final beta, and we'd always get an update a day or 2 before previous beta/scale tests. Can't wait for final release, been getting my fix with Fortnite ( cause it's free lol) and some Halo matchmaking. Anyhow we should almost definitely get our pirate fix this weekend in my humble opinion.

    and why no open beta, alot of my friends are on the fence about this game, very scared to purchase for lack of content shown in videos. really needs an open beta for the unsure peeps. so many games come out and die quick. monster Hunter online was trash. just so many people afraid to buy this game.

    @senilegold the reddit post is crazy over 700 trying to summon the beta lol friends on xbox in parties sitting at the games start screen trying to access the game. it's funny how people are going nuts to play this game

    @durablegalaxy38 it was mentioned on another thread that it is supposedly running now but only pioneers under NDA are invited so far. I can’t find anything to confirm this. I’m a bit surprised that there hasn’t been any news or original threads updated or even an email as before. If it follows the scale test patterns it would be starting in an hour. I’m hopeful but not getting my hopes up too much for now!

    I have a lot of followers on xbox, most of them won't play fortnite because it's cartoony, everyone's waiting on far cry 5. I tell them this game is amazing and fun. I hope there really is an open beta. might have to wait on farcry 5 . preorder this and have really enjoyed it
