SO i recently got my self an Xbox One S, the budle that comes with gamepass and gold for 3 months. I believe it gives me the option to share gold and game pass with another person. Being part of their play anywhere program would i be able to share game pass and gold with my wife who has not had a chance to pre order the game yet and have her be able to play on PC with me sharing the game pass.
Xbox Game Pass Sharing.
@mordimeir Yes and No, It depends on who redeems it in this instance since she will be the one playing on PC. She wont require your gold as Windows 10 store online gaming doesn't require Xbox Live Gold at the moment. If you want her and you to both share games together your best bet would be to redeem the codes on "Her" account and home xbox her account on your xbox allowing you to access her game License and Xbox live gold membership through family sharing. This will allow both of you to Enjoy the games Gamepass has to offer or anything she gets on her account along with the gold shared between both of you. "Home xbox" Allows other users to play the games License on the account without the other users who play on that Xbox have to buy double of the games"
@mordimeir That i am aware of the gamepass doesnt work over game share, the person i gameshare with has had it and i personally have never had access.
Same with the EA access one.
Its possible that might have changed but it's microsoft so don't get ya hopes up. :)
@knifelife Gamepass allows Sharing same with EA access however its a bit more complex and less user friendly. As the person who owns the membership has to start the download on the xbox before the other user can log in and play it. So you can't Home xbox the account with Gamepass or EA Access and start up the app on the account that doesn't own it. It won't allow you so you need log into the account that owns it and start the download from there.
@mordimeir If you have any questions hit me up with a @ me. But simple terms in steps. Step1: Redeem the codes on her account, "AT the very least the Gamepass code." Step2: Download her account onto your Xbox. Step3: Go into the xbox settings through her account and "Home Xbox her account" Step4: Download the games through Gamepass "While signed into her account" Step5: Have fun sailing the Seas with your lover!
@knifelife No problem man its a bit awkward since they are "Memberships" So the user who owns them needs to activate it before it can fully work. "Somethings to note with EA Access the Trail codes time is still shared between both accounts" So use that time wisely, I normally let my brother use it as he pays for the membership.
@mordimeir I'm not if its possible for her to play on PC and use your game Licenses, unless PC offers a feature. I know the Windows 10 store has a similar option as "Home Xbox" Allow this pc to play my game licenses while I'm offline. However I think that's more for personal use if you don't have internet access. "In simple terms from what I understand you have two options" Option1: Since for some reason you are buying Sea of Thieves and also own Gamepass which give you Sea of Thieves free. Cancel the pre-order and put in on her account so she will be able to access it on the PC through her windows account. and you home xbox her account allowing you to play it. OR you can Option2: She plays your account on PC and you play hers on your Xbox allowing you to home Xbox your account on the xbox.
