During the closed beta i was sailing with the crew when all of a sudden i saw an unknown player hopping around on the deck defiantly not part of my crew. I didnt see any ships even close! So we didnt get boarded. We of course sent him to the ferry of the dammed. Did anybody else experience something like that?

the player could be hiding on your ship since past battles or could have spawned in the same outpost than you and hopped on your ship from there, i did that multiple times lol

I hid in the bottom of a new spawn sloop during the last scale test. I of course had no ill will towards the new Captain who had just started playing. So when we were underway I made myself known to him and gave him some sloop sailing solo player pointers. After a good chat I disembarked and took a mermaid back to my own ship to complete my own voyages. I hope that fellow Captain takes my pointers to heart and flourishes after release.
I had this happen last night. I had issues spawning in to our ship ( i would get a mermaid but i lt brought me back to the island twice) after i took the mermaid a 3rd time it spawn me on a galleon 3 islands away. Naturally i took the gunpowder from their crows nest and moved it to the basement. I've been playing since day 1 and this is the first time ive heard of it.
@chief-tapatio - If you're stocked with bananas, bullets & are good with a sword you can swim a fair bit.
Like myself, many pirates enjoy the risk of survival and challenge themselves in the sea. I've swam between many islands just to say hi to another crew or rob them.
So along with stowaways, I see no foul play here.
He just boarded you from a ship hidden from sight or one that's passed away a while ago? Maybe he hid on your ship for a long while before hopping on.
I did it to a sloop just yesterday. I hopped of the galleon while we were sailing past, had to swim a looong wile before reaching it, then I stole it and sailed to the next island before the owners of the ship scuttled it. Got around 4 captains chests off that encounter :-)
I watched as a guy from a sloop after us tried to grab our ladder. He missed it as our ship sailed past moving faster than him making it impossible to catch up. I turned and adjusted the wheel straight and ran down to repair the hole next to the ammo crate. Out of the corner of my screen I see him appear in the bottom of our sloop. My instinct told me it was my buddy but as I reminded myself that he was still alive, the guy ran straight up to me and hit me with the blunderbuss as I repaired. I was so confused. I couldn't explain it for about a month until one of my own crew spawned on an enemy ship. Then I was convinced that was what happened that day.
