Universal Friendly Gesture...Play Music ! !

    I'm certain to not be the first to suggest such, but when I approach or am approached when not executing the "Kill, Kill, Kill!" style of gameplay, I simply bust out the Hurdy Gurdy and strike up a tune.

    I've been blasted to bit many times, but have also met some great fellow pirates.

    So if you meet some swab on the high seas playing a wee bit of a sea shanty, stop and have a tankard of ale.

    Not falling for that one again, some pirate was real friendly playing music until he saw my treasure, then he shot me in the back. I of course absorbed the bullet unflinching - as any pirate would, finished my dealings with the Gold Hoarder's Company and then made quick work of the back stabber.

    I use the Ahoy! text and wave. Or simply announce myself and my intentions on chat.

    Yea we do the lantern thing. Also if we're approaching a boat well all stand up front and wave emote. So far so good. But God help em if they fire on my crew.

    We had a sloop roll up on our galleon with one guy on the bowsprit waving. We waved back.... then the other guy lets loose with a waterline cannon shot at point blank range.

    Maybe it was not intended, but the sloop ended up in the depths.
