Wind hacks? ship in front is getting a massive amount of diistance while sailing into the wind with sails flat ?

You are actually at a slight disadvantage since your sail is pointed to the right while the wind is going to the left. Turn your sail and youll get some speed!
but it wasnt catching at all
Not sure yet how accurate the wind/sail simulation is(no ship has yet to be blown backwards because of a full-sail against the winds), but the sail doesn't need to catch the wind to work. Wings on planes don't catch the wind; the upward force is exerted by air beneath the wing moving faster under than the air on top does over. The same principle applies to sails in oncoming wind: the air moves faster along the back of the sale than it does the front, pushing it forwards. Sails take on a funnel shape to reflect this, getting wider towards the back.

This I think, for the reason because his sail (even though pointing forwards) is half correct compared to your sails which are pointing all the way to the right, is completely wrong with the wind (even going towards it) going slightly right to left?
If you follow what I mean by that but Im speculating, is that how the physics work on situations like that?
Edit: grammar
Edit2: grammar againedit 3: or maybe when you are going into the wind, if you wasnt catching at all, the sails have no effect and is set to a default speed
Edit4: FML

It's actually a proven fact that every player that performs better than you is hacking. So yes, this is obviously wind hacks.
how are they performing better though?
they're sailing into the wind
turning all over the place
never adjusting their sails
they should be dead in water not losing us by 8 miles and counting
so explain how a ship that doesnt adjust sails goes faster than a ship that does?
its also a sloop vs sloop
