Loving the chance to play but any reason I have to hit people 2 or 3 times with pistol/blunderbuss to get a kill yet only need to be hit once from others to be killed? Maybe headshots but people are like 100% accurate it seems no matter how I move... can anyone help?

@pir4te-roberts I’ve noticed this too, every once in a while you run into someone who eats more bullets than 50cent😕 to make matters worse when I’ve experienced it they’ve never been gobbling down bananas.

What's you platform, Xbox or PC?@pir4te-roberts the one shots are also called headshots. I agree body shots from the blunderbuss should only take about 2 to kill which often isn’t the case, but instakills aren’t cheating they are headshots. Hate to say it but... git gid bro 😜

That just isn't true.
I have tested with a friendly pirate I met and it is lag.
The stress test will do all kinds of wacky stuff to hit-reg. I have shot a guy about 8 times in a row, right in the face, and he hasn't died.
When I check what my ping was like at the time it'll usually be spiking up to ridiculous numbers.
Sometimes it could be them lagging out too.I wouldn't worry about it until post-launch.

Do we know for fact the game includes head shots? This wouldn't apply to the Bbuss because we can see from footage that aiming it at the centre of the body is most effective, aiming at the head causes a loss of damage due to bullet dispersion.The pistol, i've seen point blank headshots not kill people...
And recently a player posted on here about his findings when running tests on the weapons between PC and xbox. He said he found that the lethal range of a Bbuss on PC was significantly higher than it was when playing on an xbox.
Not sure why this would be, but he was adamant that his anaylasis was objetive and accurate. I imagine connection plays a big role in connectivity. If this game pulls a little big planet and bases itself in multiplayer but is then also riddled with lag and connectivity issues, it's going to have a hard to gaining much wind.

I'm on Xbox.. so it's not a crossedplay balance issue.. but it's kind weird.. even at midrange one kill is enough to kills me with a Blunds... That only was supposed to happen at very closed range.@saracens-lament

This is not an headshot thing..
With the bunny hops and all the running around there is not possible to have this rate of instant kill. It happens too, but really toooo often...I don’t know, I just fought someone with what I assume was full health and I had half but I dodged every pistol shot he took even though he was on my ship and never seem to run out of ammo even though he didn’t touch my ammo box once but regardless I hit him twice in the head and he lived through both so I had to assume he’s low and tried to finish him with my sword and ended up getting one shot by his sword at half health and him living 2 pistol headshots and 3 sword hits while I die to one doesn’t make a lot of sense to me
@zyyxno cool bud. And I’m new to the game, still learning the fighting mechanics so confused as to how someone at bullets and swords and then one shot me
I was under the impression that head shots did not actually exist in this game. With the blunderbuss people are getting one-shot because every pellet is connecting. That's why body shots are better because there's more surface area for the individual pellets of a blunderbuss shot to connect. In particular, I've noticed this with skeletons.
Could someone confirm?
