Can the auto orientation while setting the sail angle removed?

  • Not sure if this happens on PC, but the Xbox keeps returning the screen to the default position while setting the sail angle. We have to hold the joystick in place to be able to look in certain directions. Would be great if we could change this in the settings.

  • @my-name-is-fej yes please

  • Yeah, I actually really hate that as well. I like looking around. Can help keep eyes forward a bit for rocks as well

  • Totally agree. This really frustrated me.

  • I think it’s a very practical game mechanic in real life if you are raising or lowering the the sails or adjusting them in any way you are going to put your full attention on doing it correctly before returning to the task at hand. It also adds a degree of difficulty and requires a bit of skill to balance Manning a sea vessel and fendin off an enemy ship.

  • Are there any PC players who can advise on whether it happens on PC as well. Otherwise, it may create a disparity and unfair advantage. Small but present.

  • @greyscissors well i know for sure that it happens if you're using a controller on pc, as this is what i do. dont remember when using mouse...

  • @scheefinator Alright, thank you. In that case I'm less inclined to change it.

  • @scheefinator Correct

  • @scheefinator I am still curious to find out if it happens with a mouse then.

I should be able to decide for myself what to look at.

    Multitasking. Yaknow

  • @tre-oni

You can look areound while you do these things it’s just that the angle of view defaults to the task you are taking on. Sails, rigging, the helm, the cannon, etc.

  • @My-name-is-Fej @GreyScissors No, I don't think this happens with mouse.

But it's different. If I move my mouse to the right to look, and stop moving my mouse, it's still to the right. IDK if that makes sense, but a mouse can't snap back to center like a joystick.

  • @xcalypt0x That makes sense. So, if this is a limitation with a mouse then I think it will give a slight multitasking advantage to people using a mouse. This is minor so I'm not super worried about it, but still should be acknowledged. Thanks for the answer Calypto
