I ran across a Lovely German gal explaining the workings of a Hurdy Gurdy. And then I followed a link then another then this came to view, http://storm-seeker.com/ . Rare you need to have these folks add music to this game !! A Pirate Folk METAL band. I'm an old f**t and this Band is really really great.
Looking up Hurdy Gurdy led me to this....A Pirate Folk Metal band
@oldsk00l1964 Awesome - I was not aware of this bands existence! You may also enjoy the following bands:
Alestorm - Probably the most well-known pirate metal band.
The Dread Crew of Oddwood - Leaning more towards folk-type sounds, really fun band.
Swashbuckle - Heavier, but piratey.
Runing Wild - Has assorted stuff but lots of great pirate metal.
Lagerstein - Leaning towards punk-metal, this band is another one worth checking out.Enjoy!

@oldsk00l1964 One more I thought of -
The band Wilderun is fantastic and their first album has a good handful of pirate-y songs - including this cover of an age old classic:
