After some sessions during this scale test, played both solo and 4 men crew mode, what I have experienced is far from satisfactory. All what we do is digging and selling chests, occasionally being camped on the way to merchant. It is so hollow while hyped like a AAA game. People still use excuses like 'not the full release' to defend this flop however I really don't think within 1 month there would be enough substantial changes to make it fun. To be honest, till now the only thing in this game which an indie game studio would feel hard to achieve is the graphics of sea water and waves. Anyway hope this game get good before getting cold which is likely to happen in 6 months.
More like an indie game to me

@AustintheCleric Apparently the version of the game available now is only about 20% of the content. I don't know how true that is, but I would suggest waiting until about 2 weeks after the games release. If you don't see reports of people having fully experienced everything the game offers by then, you know its good for at least a few months gameplay. Hardcore gamers will put in about 130 hours across two weeks, some even more, so that's why I wait the two weeks.
And if you're not holding your breath for release already, that probably won't change. It's the nature of the game that's getting people hyped, not the playtime or value for money.
