Boat Flags [suggestion] surrendering and signalling

    At the Crow's nest, or perhaps the stern of the ship, have a flag with the ship's symbol, or perhaps the jolly roger insignia. A member of the boat can change the color of the flag during battle or whilst sailing to be
    White: Surrender
    Black: Hostile
    Eventually if the game ever offered a "journal" or "pirates handbook" or something, other colors could be added to mean things like "Kraken here" or, "Travelling Mechant", etc. The Black and White is easily distinguishable.
    A White flag is a universal symbol of surrender. Let's say I'm on a small boat alone, and I've got a Chest of Sorrows. I can't sail, battle, and bucket out water all at once. I go to the Stern of my ship (perhaps near the map) and change my flag to white. If it's night, maybe I can flash a light near it a couple times. Sure, I might end up losing chests, but at least my ship hasn't sunk as well. There's also a chance of them ignoring (or not seeing) the flag. Just an idea of had, thought I'd share. Feel free to let me know what you think, or suggest some other flag options!

    @lord-raxus I think the flag idea is solid. It should definitely work for people who play with honor.

    I was about to post something similar, definetly we need atleast awhitw flag to tell the ships who chase us that we surrender without fighting.
    Great idea mate, hope to see it implemented in the game!

    @lord-raxus good idea but add in a red flag for the no mercy no quarter PVPers to use (some pirates did use a red flag for this purpose)

    I think every player should have his own flag design. They can be uploaded and approved much like forum avatars are. Whoever is chosen Captain gets to display his flag.

    White flag would be a great signal as well.

    Red flags mean No Quarter, some pirate flags were red.
    Then there was the very powerful Red Flag Fleet in Asia.

    Also, perhaps a neutral color, or not hostile color in case someone wants to play a merchant. Though they would still be fair game for being attacked.

    Pirate flags were a big deal though. Sometimes the flash alone with it's reputation would often cause ships to surrender.

    @lord-raxus I like it... Just reword the white flag from ''' surrender '' to '' truce '' and i'll LOVE IT... 😆👍
