@dagast1 Oooooh, you have done most things I would suggest... one final thing you could try if you haven't already is to install a free app from the app store that sometimes fixes these issues.
Failing that, it could be due to this being a stress test and these things are to be expected as the team test server outages and throttle game performance. So trying again later may fix it...
@musicmee Yeah done that installing a free app as well, didn't do anything. I just got in the game after keeping it on that screen for 10 min.. Anyway started a game with a friend and we got the big ship which was to much, so we wanted to restart it and get a smaller ship and now i'm back waiting on the 'opening journal' screen again... I'll just keep waiting and not restart a session lol.
@dagast1 Is your antivirus Comodo?
It is possible that 'Opening the Journal' was previously called 'Discovering services' so it could be an antivirus problem already seen in the forums.
In case you have Comodo as antivirus, here are a couple of possible solutions:

If it is not the fault of the antivirus, I can only recommend that you contact the support:
