Trying to play SoT on my Xbox one, with a gf on PC

  • Sorry if this is the wrong place. Im trying to play the scale test on my xbox one with my gf on the pc.

Do we need two gold accounts for this? When i launch the game from her account on the xbox it tells me that its already signed in somewhere else, but we're using two separate accounts, hers is enrolled in the insider program, and mine is a pre-order access account.

So we should both have access to scale test, but does she need to pay for a separate gold sub on her account?

  • @tepni As long as you are using 2 different Gamertags all should be fine... It sounds like you are signed in with the same Xbox/Microsoft account on both devices.

  • That's what i thought at first, too... We're definitely on our own separate accounts. Weird.

  • @tepni Not sure if it would cause the issue but I will be coming up against this at launch as well (me and son on PC and moms on the Xbox) I'm curious to know if the xbox player in your situation is on the account that is tied to the Gold Sub? Maybe swap and see if anything changes... just a thought.

My understanding is that you only need one gold sub for the gamers using the xbox, they all get to share the privileges of using the account. But I have certainly been wrong before.

  • @tepni Xbox at times has licensing issues when multiple accounts on that Xbox on the same titles. So if you have both yours and her account on that Xbox and you downloaded the game from her account on your Xbox. Microsoft may think that your using the license of the user "Her account" who downloaded the game. " I personally have had this happen to me for a lot f2p titles and apps. I uninstall them and reinstall which fixes my issues." My work around may not be your problem however I though I put my 2 cents in just incase. Keep in mind even on PC and Xbox you can't be playing the same license for a app or game at the same time. Unless that accounts home xbox is the xbox your using.

  • @tranquil-ape You made a good point, and i tried what you said, but it still doesn't work. It says something along to lines of "this app is already in use" (referring to the PC app)

I even tried uninstalling SoT on the pc and xbox, then reinstalling the app on both platforms from their respective accounts. Didnt work.

Now im curious to see how this will work at launch...

  • @tepni Hey not sure if you figured the problem out however, is this the message that you receive. alt text

  • @pigeonman-beam If this message is the one you receive this is from when two instances of the same license of the game are running. Try clicking the Sign in and player here instead to see if it kicks you off the game on Xbox. If this is not the case @ me with any extra info.
