Too much loot for one ship?

    Some of you may know about the highly anticipated skeleton forts containing more loot than one ship can carry(confirmed). How does that work? Does the ship run out of space, but that doesn't seem likely since chests can overlap. Can the weight of treasure sink a ship, because in many videos of the beta, when people get dozens of chests on board, the ship stays afloat.

    i think they meant that it was more than one crew could carry at a time. so they would have to make multiple trips back and forth from their ship to actually get all the loot.

    @mistavanvleck That's his point, currently you can carry an infinite number of chests on board.

    @wturok They are talking about 2 different things. @ResidentApple12 is talking about the ships cargo capacity (e.g. how much a ship can carry, not the ships crew), @mistavanvleck is talking about 5+ chests which a full 4 player crew could not carry from the fort to the ship at one time.

    yea but i dont remember anything saying that the forts contained more loot than one ship can carry. just more than one crew can

    No this has been stated by rare. They did say more then one ship can carry having to make multiple trips or share the treasure with multiple ships. Ethier this was a miss quote or there hinting that ships have some kind of storage limit. I assume that the chest overlapping also refered to as object clipping is a bug and will be corrected in final reaslease. So far no metric no system is in place that takes ships wieght into account. As the only thing so far that effect the ship water level is the amonut of water in the ship.

    I would assumed from the nature and content of that interview that if they did say 'ship', they meant crew. They mention the stress of having to make multiple trips to get all the chests. Between the chests and the ship this makes sense, but bebtween the chests and the nearest outposts seems far too over the top. I think they meant more than one crew could carry. They're not into restricting gameplay and a ship max chest amount would be quite restricting.

    They meant that there will be so much loot, and there will be other possibly hostile crews present, that you likely can't take it all before you need to (Mod Edited) for some reason.

    Im guessing there will be a few chests of sorrows forcing you to make mutiple trips
