Earrings of gold and silver had a serious meaning for pirates!
1.) Superstition: curing bad eyesight, preventing one from drawning, as a protective talisman of preventing seasickness.
2.) Pride: as a token after one's first voyage or a glorious feat, as a rememberance for special occasions or the sheer pride of looking shiny and wealthy.
3.) To pay for their funerals: pirates would even inscribe their home port and burrial wishes into earrings so their comrades could burry them in decent fashion (non ever wanted a burrial at sea!) using the earrings to pay for the coffin or the drinks on their burrial.
Is it possible (or maybe allready planed) to have this in the game for flair?
just imagine, gamewise, different earrings belonging to different outposts, allowing you to spawn (if you so wish) at the outpost's you wear as earring. Each outpost would have a different look and you could just wear one...giving you an alternative on where to spawn.
Thats just an idea, maybe you guys can come up with more and different ingame ideas on this important pirate trinket.
