Raising the Pirate Flags !

    There should be an option for this, a rope that would allow you to raise or lower a big Pirate Flag on your ship to declare your intentions in game. I believe this is a key function that will allow players to know if they are dealing with hostile pirates or not, and could also be a symbol of surrender while you doing your naval batlles! Let me know what you think guys !

    I kinda like this idea, maybe after you lower the flag there could be an option to change it to white or something to indicate that you're friendly or that you surrender. But yea that would be super cool to raise your flag as you approach another galleon.

    @blackbeardluffy head to the crow's nest with a flag (that you grabbed below deck) equipped and press F on the flag to swap em

    Thing is were all pirates, everyone is Kill On Sight by default.

    Making this a superfluous gesture.

    It's a highly requested feature, so if we don't see it at launch I'm sure we'll see it in future updates.

    I was thinking if there was a way to change your sail out in the ocean People could start using that as a system

    @getschmiton Great idea! Having various flags at your disposal for communication, surrender, peace, etc. as well as a unique flag (where you can upload a .png image with your personal flag to use) would be great.

    Well, some may also roleplay "reputable" traders, there is the Trading Company path to take anyway. Also, pirates don't really have to kill on sight all the time.

    Just FYI, pirating is to steal, not kill, the killing they do is a means to an end, to terrify, but they mostly steal cargo or even ships without even killing the crew, unless the crew picks up a fight.

    Yes! This is brilliant! The only downside is that I feel people will not raise their flag in an attempt to trick another ship. Even the pirate's had codes!
