Is the controller worth the price?
SoT Controller
@deluxechin Its similarly priced to all other controllers and if you want to support the game a little and get a few exclusive items at the same time then yeah :) Go for it!
I may be slightly biased though :P
@deluxechin I have it and love it. It is a gorgeous controller.
Worth on something like this is relative, so I can't say if it is "worth" the price, but I don't regret my purchase.
@deluxechin - In Australia it's the same price as a normal controller so I'd say it's good value.
I was looking to get a new controller anyway, so for the same price I get this awesome SoT controller instead of a boring plain coloured one :-)
@blair187 Yup, one I have a plan for, one to play with and the other will be kept in my merch pile untouched.
@musicmee wow that a lot of money to drop. A plan for? giveaway? Have you heard they are doing a tankard, think that's my next purchase.
@blair187 Possibly a giveaway ;) Just trying to prize it out of my hands is going to be the hardest task.
I had not heard about the tankard are you sure?

Yep, wife bought it for me as a V day gift. It's awesome, the barnacle grow as a grip is a nice touch.
@shikia-caeleaum Oh wow, even more incentive to get this even if I agree of the Black Dog pack. Thank you!
@deluxechin For me, certainly worth the price, it's not overpriced at all, and it looks glorious (still sat in it's box not being used till, launch! lol).
On a side note though, has anyone tried to redeem the ferryman outfit yet ? I haven't but now I'm curious as to whether you can redeem the code pre launch (not suggesting or in anyway thinking you'll get to use it) or whether you have to wait till launch day ?
@j4dio Ahoy!
Yes, you can redeem the code now and it just sits there - like the black dog pack - ready for launch!
@Kawaii-Dumpling oh as well as the clothing set mentioned, it contains a code for 14 days of Game Pass....not necessarily an exclusive, but worth a mention :)

The skull glows after you hold it up to some light.
So yes.
I think all controllers are overpriced. But being evenly priced with others the Sea of Thieves controller looks like an obvious choice.
It so happens one of the bumpers on my Elite controller just gave up the ghost. I have a basic controller that will probably do for a while, but I will miss the paddles I used to mirror clicking on the thumbsticks. The convenience of sprinting that way isn't worth the extra money. The rubber grips were comfortable, but one had broken off and the other was loose after 2 years of heavy use.
Anyway, I would have purchased the SoT controller as an impulse if it had still been easily available. But now I will wait. I already bought the art and lore books anyway!
I'm so glad that i picked mine up, the thing is i'm a PC player and the only other Xbox Controller that i owned was the one that came with the Oculus Rift (Which i ended up selling). I still held onto the chat pad and chat headset along with the rechargeable battery and i'm so glad that i did.
I knew from playing in the tech alpha that using the controller at least for just sailing and treasure hunting that the controller would work for me. Being able to test it out in the scale test showed me that even in pvp situation when i wasn't trying to be 100% competitive it worked great for me. Aiming wasn't as hard as i'd thought it would be (however i'm still far better with the mouse, haha).
All in all this controller is not only awesomely beautiful but extremely practical even for someone like me who last used a controller for serious gaming back during the Nintendo 64 days...
@scondog33 Yeah, I read an Amazon review of someone saying the skull doesn't glow for them either. Unfortunately, with any product there will be occasional manufacturing defects. Sorry you got one.
