Have the Kraken swim by while on the Ferry of the Damned

  • So we know from interviews and the beta that the Ferry of the Damned is actually at the bottom of the ocean. And, well, we know that there's gonna be a Kraken (cmon, there has to be). So i thought it would be a cool bit of atmosphere while on the Ferry to have a giant body of the Kraken swim by randomly. The Ferry already has a very neat atmosphere, but I think this would help cement in the idea of the Ferry being underwater, and the idea that the Kraken is always out there....watching...waiting......
thoughts? Any other places that you think the Kraken should randomly appear, either directly, or as a passive object?

  • Seconded move to start an appeal

  • Wait, the Ferry is underwater? I must have missed that. Didn't sound underwater, and I could dance that dubstep on deck.

I would have thought the Kraken to be more in league with the Merfolk than The Damned.

  • I like it, but I think that it should be hidden in the shadows. Maybe you see a dark figure dart past the Ferry out of the corner of your eye, but when you turn to look it's gone. Or maybe as you look off into the abyss, you faintly see the tentacles fan out so you can see all 8, and then it darts away. That would add some extra creepy atmosphere to the Ferry.

  • @taydoge-swift

On my 30 straight hour voyage on the Ferry of the Damned I swear I saw some mighty strange things. Though I may of been delirious from my voyage.

    I swears I saw:

    • Just as you thought a Ghostly Kraken out in the distance.
    • A pair of skeleton sharks swimming beside the ship.
    • A seagull flying upside down through the air.
    • A ship formed beside the Ferry, it started as drift wood but then started coming together until it was a full fledged ship once more. As I watched I was taken aback by the lack of sound especially as it exploded and became drift wood once more.
    • I'm sure I saw an island appear in the distance but when I looked away it must have left for when I turned back the island was gone.
    • Then to my surprise the shadows on the deck morphed into that of pirates battling each other.

I can not be sure of what I saw during that voyage but make no mistake there be somethin' out in that Sea of Souls.

The Damned Rider of the Ferry
Master of the Song of the Dead

  • @maximillianzeus I think 30 hours may have driven you insane my friend. But... if that's true, then maybe there are very random events that occur on the ferry. I never ever die, so i never go to the ferry cough

  • @taydoge-swift

Aye, l***y as a something really crazy.

  • does that mean were in Davy Jones locker when we die?

  • @cwarrick66

Could be, but I reckon it might be the Ferry that delivers you to Davy Jones' Locker.

and Master of the Song of the Dead

  • that's b****s. would be cool if Rare came up with their own version of Davy Jones/the locker/dutchman etc as like an event boss.

tentacle bear and all. man, he was a cool villain.

  • @cwarrick66

Aye matey, I think we will have to wait for Rare's fabled Golden Age of Piracy before we get to find out where exactly the Ferry is taking the souls. Some event where we raid, pillage, and pirate the Locker itself.

  • I think Kraken and other legendary creatures should be in the game, like in uncharted areas where it is not on the map and dangerous monsters will be, if they will follow the path of division and make this game like an action mmo there could be dangerous zones with hidden treasures and danger :)

  • @taydoge-swift Thats a good idea! It would be cool to see things like that all over SoT, not just the Ferry of the Damned, and not just the Kraken. I vote for your idea first though ;)
