Does anyone know if there will be an option to name your character in SOT or will we only be able to play as our gamer tags? Personally, I hope that we will be able to name our characters as 15 letters is hardly enough for any pirate worth his salt.
Pirate Names
I feel like you should be able to give your pirate a name. It would help with immersion into the game and with roleplay aspects as well. Also I'm willing to bet a lot of peoples gamertags wont make good pirate names. Maybe they could introduce a system similar to the one that pirates of the Caribbean online had, you can either pick options from a name generator, or type your own, and it gets submitted for review to make sure its appropriate, and that pirate will have a temporary name until its approved or denied.
BOY, do I hope I can change my pirate name! I picked my gamertag ID years back when I bought Minecraft for my young son. Thought the ID would be cute for him. Didn't know I'd have to keep it. Looked into changing my gamertag ID on Microsoft. . .$9.99!!!! They wanted to charge me $10 to change the name! What's more outrageous than them charging that price is that people are paying it! I say kudos to Microsoft. If people are going to pay it, they really don't need the money. So, say hello to pirate Grantydoodles!
