  • i would try and get 16 gigs of ram. 8 gigs is becoming the minimum nowadays.

  • @mistavanvleck What do you think his fps would be tho if he got 8gb ram and not the 16?

  • @PoisonDaisy2630 I think he should be fine. he probably wont be able to run at ultra tho without some drops.

  • @mistavanvleck So do you think he could stay at an average 60fps with nice looking graphics atleast? because the whole game is basically water which is awesome but it needs to look good also. Thanks.

  • @poisondaisy2630 yea i think he'll be able to run the game fine. it's not as graphically reliant as most AAA games today, just due to the type of style the game was designed in. so he shouldn't worry

  • @mistavanvleck so does fine mean ~ average 60fps?

  • @poisondaisy2630 yes

  • @dielikekane So what do you think the average FPS would be?

  • @dielikekane With that possible new setup? are you like really sure? that would be awesome if you're right

  • Forgive my ignorance, but is SoT's CPU load particularly high? I would think they'd be better off upgrading the video card.

  • @lucid-stew I think as long as the CPU is good, you should be fine as long as you have a decent graphics card. the gtx 750ti is old but it's not horrible, still works well

  • I used to have a 750ti. It has some issues as far as new titles go. GPU performance is not fantastic, that 2GB frame buffer, and the memory bandwidth isn't great.

  • @dielikekane Are you able to check SOT data like fps with certain parts? if so, how?

  • @dielikekane And you were basically positive that the pc specs that are planned in this post will work the same as yours and bring a promising fps to SOT?

  • @dielikekane I don't wanna come off as annoying but are you saying the upgraded specs at the top of this post will handle an average 60fps or not?

  • @dielikekane And if i turn shadow and lightning down it will raise higher like yours did? btw you're really helping me out here (not being sarcastic) so thank you

  • @dielikekane and the game looks still really good? man I hope you're right and this is all accurate cuz im getting excited haha

  • @dielikekane you got me hyped dude, thanks for being so helpful!

  • I wouldnt worry too much about FPS on this game. It's going to be very well optimised and is aimed at the console market. It will likely run very well on the majority of average builds.

  • @porkin5 thank you for your input, man :)

  • @poisondaisy2630 Np!

  • Hey, people have already mentioned your GPU should be your focus. So adding to that... Just get what you can afford and use userbenchmark.com to see if the gains are worth what you're spending. If you can find a RX470, 480, 570 or 580 for a reasonable price those would be perfect for your build while lasting a few more years if you wanted to upgrade everything else down the road. It's tough with all the miners out there so you'll need patience lol. Lastly, I'm running a 6300 with rx470 oc and am able to run max settings 1080p, high 50s for reference. Whatever you opt to do good luck :) ryzens new APUs are also an option to look into (2400G) but you'd end up spending as much on RAM as a decent GPU lol

  • @spinierpenny746 I actually have a Ryzen 3 1300X...and 8gb DDR 2133Mhz RAM although I can't see RAM making a massive difference...

the thing that differs for me is I have a GTX 1050ti which was the best I could manage with my budget at the time and my PC was never intended for gaming.

On Sea of Thieves, I can run at 1080p full screen, on Mythical settings, but it is around 30-40 fps

I can maintain an almost constant 60 fps if I knock it down to Legendary but I prefer looking at Mythical and couldn't really care less about 60 fps, nor could I tell much of a difference....but again, I don't play on PC enough to notice.

The game looks gorgeous is all I know, and that'll do for me! :)

  • Any ideas of the types of games he is looking to play? He could probably play many of them on lower settings. Also a budget would be nice if possible.

  • asus x370-F gaming
    Ryzen 7 1700x
    16Go 2600MHz
    gtx 960 - 4Go
    1To HDD + 2To HDD

games is in Extreme settings, i never had a single lag, even with 4/5 ships fighting at the same time.

Don't forget the game was disigned for consoles so 8Go is already enough for this game as much as fortnite or league of legends wich are made to run on a microwave. But 16Go will be needed for Kingdom Come and a decent GPU. i guess you plan to go a 400€/450$ upgrade so i would suggest to hit a little higher on the GPU and grab a 1050/ti since the 1050 is at the same price.
