Cinematic Replays

    This has been something that has buzzed through my mind for a while now.

    Some games like Rocket League, for example, have a replayability.

    If you find yourself in a really good game, there should be a way to save that if you didn't record. Or maybe, you want to make a cinematic montage.

    Imagine a raging sea battle between two gallons in a storm!

    Imagine a calm day and you are exploring a cave, you grab your chest and find that a ship is coming to rob you!

    Imagine having the ability to do bird's eye views of a game, free cameras etc, making your game look really epic to show off to your pirate friends!

    If we can do that the game as a content creator will skyrocket. Making the game not only better to advertise wink but more appealing to other potential players. Trailers and Cinematics will look amazing which I mentioned here but give the community and content more diversity.

    Anyway I would like to hear what you guys have to say, I think it is a great idea I hope you do think so too.

    While I think this would be amazing!... it is a lot to ask out of Development and I can't imagine it would be easy to accomplish. I would love to make some cinematic, but the team might not see this as worth investing into. They will get a LOT of coverage on youtube and twitch so this addition might be seen as pointless for them....

    Even though I myself would love it :) Would also allow us to capture some better screen shots by looking over footage and aligning a camera up for a specific picture.

    With so many options for recording gameplay, why would the game need a feature for this? If you have an epic fight, or you manage to dock perfectly at an outpost and you decide it's worth recording, it's your responsibility to do that.

    I think the OP is referring to a more advanced recording system and not just what you are seeing on the screen as you play. Something more similar to GTA's studio recording abilities.

    @olric-forstner Can that not be done using 3rd party applications on PC or Upload Studio via Xbox?

    This would be great for editing videos! I dont know if is really that hard to implement this on game but it will definitely help content creators

    No lol. You can't just have a program add in camera controls into a game. That's not a thing.

    @olric-forstner Ha! I was confused. I've been lurking the forums for days on end and it's rotting my brain! Camera control options would be a great thing for content creators, but it's unlikely we'll see something like this on launch day. Great suggestion for the future, though!

    Aye I' would b' a great addition, bu' I fear it may be quite hard to implement in th' game. Even with GTA ye feel very limited, at least I couldn't figure out 'ow to use it effectively.
