The harpoon could be mounted on the bow of the ship. It would be for whales and you could harpoon a enemy ship.
Of course, we could use the harpoon to attach the ship to another to easily enter. but they should be able to cut off the harpoon!
back to the topic
whales, yes!kraken yes!
the third rather not.
the sea shouldn't be overflooded with boss type of sea beings..
nice idea tho
@vandaelium i imagine some sort of a company that trades animal/monster itens for gold or some itens some examples:
u kill a serpent like moster and gets a tooth sword
or just kill a whale and trade for gold and reputation(reputation unlocks quests for bigger animals and monsterHow about Sirens, that Sing/lure you out in the water(no control), so your crew have to shoot it to gain back control. could be placed out on some of those big rock
kinda want Native people on some of the island.
Dolphins could be awesome, maybe to help player to land
A Parrot, It's a must for a pirate game, so im sure it will come, but maybe make it an mission item/pet, that is an indication that u are someone to be feared
Monkeys
@avirex-idyll the devs already told us that they want a "event" like for mith creatures examples in rate of appear
dolphin rate 50%
turtle rate 70%
Whale rate 30%
kraken 1%-10%(depends on the area)
davy jones 5% in mist locations@captain-jolokia ha detto in Whales, kraken and Plesiosaur:
To all players who want to whaling, I have to tell you: JUST GO F**K YOURSELF AND BURN IN HELL, SON OF A B***H, I WISH YOU TO G********R !
Whales are sooooo nice, much better than you! F**K off!
🤔🤔🤔🤔
@lemonwave236035 The Lochness Monster. Similar creatures whp tread the sea instead of the loch appear in Viking myths. And as you know Vikings were originators of most monstrous sailor myths and share many tales with the likes of the pirates
@matthawk821 The Lochness monster was a toy dinosaur in a grainy photo mate, all them Plesiosaurs are long dead.
You're right that a lot of Viking myths contained sea monsters (the etymology of the word Kraken actually has roots in the Norse languages I believe), but it ain't like they invented the concept. For as long as man has sailed, he's feared the sea and the creatures within it.
I'm all for more monsters and beasts of the sea to contend with, but let's leave the developers as much creative freedom as possible to get something new and exciting.
@tundra-793 Mythology. Lochness monster is well known throughout the world and originated from the Celtics. The plastic toy in a photograph was from like 60 years ago that mythical beast has been around far longer than 60 years. Also, Rare explicitly stated they want this to be a project for the gaming community. They want us to decide what will be in the game.
I don't get why people are looking down at the plesiosaur in a negative sense. You do realize this new monster is LITERALLY a prehistoric shark? If they can give us a megaladon in their own style they can do the same for a nessie like plesiosaur. I honestly don't find whales scarey but then again the new monster looks intimidating and moby d**k is a monster sized whale so i feel they could pull it off easily.

Just so we're on the same page; I'm not arguing that the Loch Ness monster doesn't have long reaching mythical origins, but we both agree that it's largely a fictional beast, yes?
I think you're partially right about Rare's attitude towards the game; The community can impact aspects of it for sure, but we can't dictate the direction of it.
Like, I'm all for more monsters to encounter, I just want to see as much original stuff as possible.@DoctorViolet3 Except it ain't. The "Megalodon" tag is something the community attached to it, not once has Rare ever called it that. I'm hopeful that we'll get a proper, original name for it, or that it's just a sea monster that resembles a shark, but still is not actually, a Megalodon. In that vein; I'm not against something resembling a Plesiosaur, I just want it to be more fanciful and original.
And if you don't find whales scary, go watch that movie about the incident that inspired Moby D**k. I think it was called The Sea , but I honestly can't remember for sure. I believe Chris Hemsworth starred in it.
Sorry to be that guy, but; Moby D**k wasn't a monster sized whale, he was just an unusually angry whale, based on a real whale attack depicted in that movie i mentioned.@jbb02 Personally Id love to see passive animals added like whales and other sea life. If a Plesi or Nessi is added hopefully its an ultra rare passive sighting, theres gonna be enough trying with the Meg coming
