I was thinking a bounty system gets added onto them which other players can collect gold on. This type of punishment would not just go for your crew but for random players out in the word being disrespectful or braking the pirate code. If a player commits a critical transgression then I think a gallow or guillotine system should be put in place (instead of head being chopped or being choked the character will just turn into a ghost (death animation) and go to the ferry of the dam which will let them play again. Here’s the kicker for this one, players who have been reported and confirmed to have broken a rule will not only need to wait a certain period (real time) on the gallow/ guillotine but if they leave the game and come back with remaining time then they will start the game back at the guillotine/ gallows. This is kind of like a kicked from game type of punishment.

and crews that immediatly brig player 4 just because they can ?

@unbelivabot I see your point but consider this scenario. What if a random person joins a 3 man team and they all go and find about 5 chests, good chests, however the 3 man crew that the random joined are trolls and they decide to vote to kick him/her right before they cash in. How do we avoid that? Because I am sure if they put a vote to kick option this will happen......a lot.....

@unbelivabot A vote to kick system is not needed and I'll tell you briefly why.

Rare is already planning to implement an option to join a game with 3 people on a galleon.

Let's assume that you and the other 2 players know each other. You can avoid the random fourth person without the need of a vote kick option.

Let's assume that one of your buddies is not online, you can simply play the sloop with your other buddy. And if he's also not online, you can play solo on the sloop, if you want to avoid the random matchmaking for the galleon.

The only thing I would like to see is an additional penalty for players in the brig. A player in the brig won't receive any benefits while in the brig. So if you're handing chests over to one of the factions, he won't get gold out of it as long as he's in the brig.

That way he's just wasting his time by being a troll and won't gain anything.

If they implement a 3 man Squad i would be amazing, it is being currently used in PUBG which I play as well, it would solve the problem I had. But still if you would like the some random guy just to meet new people it brings it back.
The no chest thing while in a brig is good idea but brings the problem of you wrking hard with some team and seconds before turning in the chests they put you in brig and you get nothing. That can be very sad experience.
With every idea there are so many problems on the way, need to rethink and find some balance to this problems :/

Sure, the system can be exploited and be used against others.
It would still be a benefit overall. I don't think that this scenario will happen very often.

I don't know anymore where I got the information about Rare planning to make it possible that 3 people can join a game without the fourth.
I can just assure you that it is true. Perhaps they've stated it in one of their tavern talk podcasts but I'm not sure.

Edit: If we get this option, we should also get the possibility to get a fourth guy in whenever needed.

@unbelivabot As long as you're not up in arms in favour of safe zones, PvE servers and a ridiculous buff for the sloop because you got sunk and robbed, you won't get in trouble with the majority here that has played and tested the game for a year :'D

I think the same.

I was playing with a friend. we both try hard to get "x" amount of chests.
my friend loses connection with the game.
A random player enters to my ship as a new member of my crew.
I have no way to kick him despite being the captain of the group.
the random player sells the chests that i had gotten with my friend.

There should be a way to prevent people from entering your session/crew/party and ruin all the progress that you made.

@unbelivabot I'm not sure if we get any upgrades or stuff like that. It might be a possibility though.

So far, Rare wants to keep it fair so that players that just started won't get farmed by a level 500 crew that has all the upgrades to ruin others.

As far as I know, the outcome of a battle depends on your own skills as a player and I'm in favour of it.

You might see how experienced a crew is on what clothes they're wearing or how their ship is designed. Hull, sails, cannons etc.

But they can also trick you and wear lvl 1 clothes and have a basic design for their ship. You never know and I like those mind tricks in a game.

We really need the Kick Button, one man in our crew was afk for too long and when he came back he couldn't enter because there was another one that entered and didn't want to quit. He just stayed in the brig so we couldn't play with our friend or waited for us to turn in the chests, which of course didn't happen. We already had chests so we couldn't quit and let that troll win. The kick button is a must for people like him.
