Story time: Got called an idiot, no regrets.

  • Had a great adventure this evening.

Tried to join a 4-man crew and got immediatly sent to the brig. Left game and joined again and got a galleon all to myself. I decided to sail off on my own while waiting for others to join. After about 10 minutes I spot a sloop anchored at an island and sail in behind while flashing my lanterns the entire time before anchoring behind him. I knew this was probably someone new as they didn't immediately sail off when I was within spotting distance.

They finally realized I was there and flashed their lantern in acknowledgment. He came aboard my ship, showed me his map, and off we went to find his booty. After I helped him with a clue a team of 3 joined my team.

"I can't vouch for these guys" I told my comrade almost the instant they killed him and prepared to sail his ship off. I swam out to his sloop and dropped anchor and started repairing. They tried to raise anchor again, I dropped it and continue to repair.

My comrade spawned and managed to fend off the foe, and they quickly gave up and logged off leaving me again alone on my galleon. We finished the rest of his voyage with the promise I'd meet up at his next voyage location, but as soon as I spawned on my ship 2 others joined and took control of the ship.

I'm surprised they didn't brig me. Later, I got a message from one of the crew calling me an idiot. I responded 'Sorry man. Pirate code. I don't mess with the little guys.'

    No regrets. Great time!

Um pirates only messed with the little guy lol. They attacked the easiest thing they could to make a buck.
Pirates where water thieves and killers not knights in shiny armor waiting to duel for honor. ...just sayin

  • I was in a 4 man we parked at an outpost as saw a sloop, accidentally crashed into it because someone was slow on the anchor. I got out and repaired their ship as my team unloaded chests. Immediately a team mate was killed by the sloop crew and a chest was stolen. We sold all chests i powder kegged the sloop and sank it and we killed the sloop crew about 6 times each as they attempted to board our ship. The blunderbuss came in handy. Lesson learnt, don't be kind, ever.

  • @misterdoomed We'll call it my personal code then.

  • @rufustheblakman I love it!! Awesome story!!

  • @hotel-actual It's definitely a risk, but that's part of the fun. The other day I did the same thing where I signaled someone on an island, they signaled back. I came a shore and we played some music and I was trying to use emotes to lead him to a castaway chest I hid in some bushes to give to him, and he abruptly blasted me with a blunderbluss.

    Goes both ways.
