Where is the Dinghy?

  • The first thing I noticed and really wish it was in the game. No ship can sail that close to an island. A Dinghy would make the pirating experience close to perfect in my opinion. What do you guys think?
Dock your ship in the coast of an island and lower the rowboat. Then board it and row all the way to the treasure island. Also be able to explore caves and crevasses that are over water. I really think this would be a great gimmick.

  • @bobyslick I am afraid it will be only a gimmick...
since you can mostly park the ship close enough to the island to swim to.
about the cave exploration would be a nice add on.

  • @marsunstopable im happy with a gimmick

Of course. I saw players climbing their ships on land. I bet they used 5-6 planks to repair it, but hey. They are having fun. As a gimmick, we should be able to use it only if we desire to. Role play. Creating our own pirate experience. Which would be amazing. Aaaarr!

  • We posted the same idea at the same time ;) and yes i think it would be a great idea and make the game even more immersive

  • @bobyslick I don't think you got me, I've parked my ship plenty of times without crashing at all and still had close to no distance to swim. I think I will fit only for the gallons.
other than that, what's the plan spawning it out of no where?

  • Sloops can get close enough to an island that you can jump off the deck onto sand.

Galleons are the only thing that get stuck far off shore. Should there be something like a longboat for them? Maybe. We'll have to see what Rare does come release.
