the crashing on launch stuff needs to be fixed.

  • i cant keep reinstalling 13 gigs every day. this needs to be sorted out. this will kill my pre-order.

    I've had the pleasure of reinstalling the game every day now, except for today.
    Well, at least until I tried to launch it just now again..

    I could play the game totally fine in the tech. alpha but now when there's the possibility to play with friends i am just not able to launch the game at all.
    Couldnt try re-installing since my DL sucks [mod removed]...
    Really looking forward to a release NOT via insider-hub / microsoft store.

    If that does not work, this is another possible solution, but it is more complex:

  • We've had success just by installing a random app from the store, like netflix so something. I've heard that the crash bug is a windows issue which will be resolved by the time of launch.

    I've done this and all I get is an error message saying "Failed to enumerate objects in the container. Access is denied"

    I haven't been able to launch this once and support hasn't replied to me in like 8hrs.

  • @its-weg-lol I'm not sure that the support team works Saturdays and Sundays.
    Does that error appear when trying the complex solution?

    It worked! I just installed an app from the store and the game booted just fine, thanks again!

    @its-weg-lol Try installing an app from the store, anyone will do (I suppose, I installed MS Minesweeper) like mentioned aboce and then try again.

  • @el-espectro-0 Yeah, that's where I encounter it.

    When I try to launch the game I get a brief splash window or something that comes up, then immediately closes and nothing happens. No process running or anything. I've reinstalled the game, insider, xbox app, re-enrolled a dozen times, ran procdump.exe which generated a blank error file it won't let me send, sent in MS store error file, made a new login for my MS account and changed folder permissions.

    And I'm pretty sure support is working weekends because someone merged my two tickets a couple hours ago.

  • @rookztr Unfortunately this didn't help, but thanks for the suggestion. It launches minesweeper just fine.

    The beta has now disappeared from my app library but if I click show in store in the xbox insider app it brings me to the page saying its installed.

    Too bad this isn't on Steam, 13 years and I've never once had a game fail to launch, even buggy early-access PUBG lol.

  • @its-weg-lol Is your problem that the game crashes when the picture appears with a gray background or in Discovering services?

  • @el-espectro-0 Nothing ever comes onto my screen. I don't see a logo or any sort of real splash screen. I get a brief flash of a 1/4 size window that's gone in half a second. That happens maybe 1/10 times usually I hit play and nothing happens. HDD doesn't spin up, no process in task manager.

  • @its-weg-lol That error is even stranger than the two that I mentioned.
    I remember that something similar happened to me in November or December, after restarting the computer it was solved. I have not had it since then.

    Apart from that, I can not think of anything else, I am sorry.

  • @el-espectro-0 No worries, thanks for the replies though. What bothers me is that I could understand if my CPU/GPU combo had weird conflict and was causing a crash or issues in-game. I was almost expecting a little of that as it is a beta.

    The fact that it won't even launch from the store and there doesn't seem to be any recourse makes me just want to get a refund and go back to Blackwake lol.
