    Hi, what are your thoughts on the character design? I like how primitive it is, keeps the mood properly, but I have an issue with the female body. Pirate life is tough so it explains muscular dude, but why the chick is starved (her back looks awfully devoided of fat) yet has plenty of canon balls in the front? It's not really the case for dude so it's bothering me. I probably would mind less if I had a choice to play a male, but I was assigned a female (just like at birth, eh).

    On the other hand, I'm really happy with the hairstyles and I hope you keep making them unisex. I hope a braid is coming on next. Oh, and a stubble option for a female would also be a cool addition!

    @bely44l I seem to always get the lady pirate, looks fine to me but my wife would probably agree with you.

    Edit: Five o' clock shadow for female avatars would be hilarious and awesome.

    @rufustheblakman I would also love to see some scars, maybe "blind" (white) eyes, some hairy backs, etc. And ofc I wouldn't mind the weird af female body if I had an option to pick a normal body or play a dude.

    I can already imagine my pirate boi with a red braid sailing across the seas, even Kraken trembling on the mere thought of how skilled my boi is with filling the holes in own ship, because they all know the next hole he fills might be their... canon! :P

    @bely44l I hope I can make my guy look as outrageous as 4th gear Luffy from One Piece. I think scars and tattoos will definitely be part of character customization, but I'm not sure if it'll be as detailed as body hair. That would certainly be neat though. alt text

    Yeah, I wish we could select our character in the beta. Guess we are gonna have to wait until the game releases.
    I'll try to play as a fat guy with beard but no moustache.

    Not a big fan either.
    The bigger guy and dark skinned man are well executed and fun to look at, but give that woman some strength of character! Anorexic little half human as the only representation of a pirate woman wasn't the a great choice.

    Gold game's customization would be a different deal. And hopefully there might be some small perks with different body types as we know from real life.
    Big guy is a very big target, for instance, so there should be some other advantage for him and everyone.

    I take it none of you have run into the fat woman character model? Or perhaps you assumed she was male and didn't look too closely. She is rather rough on the eyes.

    Unless you mean NPC, which isn't a player, I've only seen the 1 male model and 1 female. I'm scared they are going to make NPC bodies strictly NPC only. I also only have seen 2 skin colors and 2 hair colors (black and ginger), only 1 hairstyle. The tattoos are randomly generated so I don't pay attention to them.

    @bely44l There are a few other female model placeholders used... A slightly larger build character is out there.

    @bely44l There are at least three female models iirc (fat, medium, thin). Although I think I've only seen two of them in the Beta (fat and thin). During alpha sessions your character was randomly generated every time you logged in, so you saw a lot more variety. Currently your random model is locked to account for the duration of the beta. My friend's character is currently the thin female with medium brown skin and a glass eye. Mine is the light skinned medium build male. I've seen at least dark, medium, and pale skin during beta and more shades during alpha. Hold Z and select dance emote to get a better look at your character btw.

    they talked about certain ascetic things being 'rewards' like you had to actually 'lose a leg' during a certain voyage to 'earn' the peg leg...
    so.. i personaly think this method of some unlocks would be AMAZING..

    and while i agree, the random spawn avatar right now is pretty bland.. it give me hope for the full launch

    My friend plays as the fat lady who's very rough on the eyes, but other than that they've shown plenty of character models in trailers to tell you that there are more burly female bodies in the mix.

    @kobetastrophy I fought plenty of players but never seen more models. I wonder whether perhaps my game copy might be bugged?
