Riddle Map Headache

    We’ve dealt with a fair amount of them over the past couple days. They first say the island, then a clue, followed by the chest location. Tonight we hit a snag. We landed on the island, it was a decent sized one. The riddle map updated giving us the direction. Saying to find the barrel makers grave to the west.

    I cut across the island, another crew mate took the coast in case it was literally the western most point. We spent a good 20 minutes hunting for a grave and the closest thing we could find was a skeleton slumped over a table sitting on a barrel. We decided we may as well pace it out and see if it was the spot and after digging a bunch of holes we came up empty.

    Anyone else get this one and have issues with it? Is that one broken? We spent two in game days scouring the island and eventually just gave up the search. Think the island was Smuggler’s Bay, cant remember it now.

    @naoshadowpaws I have not gotten that one yet, but your logic seems spot on to the clue.

    @naoshadowpaws It would have been Smugglers Bay but there is a grave (wooden plank in the ground with cobbled patch) with some metal rings from the barrels close by if I remember correctly.

    You know that lifting your compas to your face and walking in a direction will count the steps too? That makes it a tonne easier.

    @naoshadowpaws it is there on the western slope up the front of the island I think. It’s usually denoted by a wooden plank stuck in the dirt with stones showing the shape of the grave.

    @musicmee Yeah we figured out the pacing. The issue was finding the grave. I think it was because it's a larger island and was late so we missed the grave. I looked all over the area I was in and that's all I could find was the skeleton dead on the barrel. Not sure what my teammate saw, but he said he ran along the western coast and looked. :/

    I had the swordsmans grave at the central rock of the island.

    After 20+ mins of going in every direction and dozens on holes later, I cut my losses and called it a day. This isn't the only riddle quest either. Some of them give you such vauge details that you just need to forget it and proceed.

    Really sucks, man.

    Having the ability to draw a map as you explore it would be a great feature. Buy blank pages from a shop and then keep it out while you wander around to fill it in. Think that would help some with the bigger islands

    I also had this same problem with a riddle island was something cove I believe (island looks like it’s got a huge eagle head)? And the clue was find the vessel on the shore (easy), then it asked to find a painted monster. We then proceeded to take about 30 mins to find nothing and gave up.

    We then we had a new quest this time it was a map and went to the exact location and dig around 50/60 holes getting nothing at all! We did see a player ship leave the area, so we did think would the chests have respwan timers on possibly??
