A game like this should actually show the anchor/chain in the water! Why isn't it there!? Also, shouldn't we have row boats? Since when do pirate ships get that close to land, their massive and hard to dock. If you've watched pirate of the Caribbean ;) they always have a row boat from island to ship. Just my 0.02 cents. <3

@z-venatix I actually mentioned a rowboat earlier in a thread. I was really needing one last night! Haha you mention the anchor and chain and I didn't even think about it being visible but a really good point.
ok i agree with the deep sea, but just have an endless chain? But close to the islands there should be an achor. no?

For now i just whish to play.. still got that to early error.dang that sucks. i pre-ordered today and got into the beta no problem. even with 2 other friends :/
@Tre-Oni I don't think you understand how an anchor works... Did you really think ships have a mile long chain on them? Deploying an anchor at sea slows the ship and reduces pitch and roll, but doesn't stop the ship by grabbing the sea floor. In fact, a deep sea anchor usually looks more like a parachute than the traditional iconic anchor.

No, you don't. You hear the capstan hit and chain slam as it hits the end of the extension and the impact of the chain on the hull and the stress on the hull from the drag. I would like to see the anchor and chain modeled and animated.
Edit to add: The dead stop is unrealistic and I'm not a fan, but it is a game after all. Even in shallower water the anchor won't bring the ship to a dead stop that quickly. If it did catch on some rocks or something it would most likely snap a weak link or rip the chain free from the capstan.

I only logged on here to make this same point because a friend who joined me for the first time brought it up.
It should certainly be there. They've implemented so much detail already, the galleons are awesome. Staple point of the game for me, the ship.
Please devs, stick an anchor in there for us?

Could also have a "head" - that could also provide plenty of lodgings and interactions too. Not so sure about the nice touch though.
