I'm 50% sure that Rare confirmed a picture frame which would be held in the captains cabin where screenshots of yerself and yer crew would be hung.
Hope it's out for the Beta because NDA is being lifted.
I heard it over a year ago now I'd say and haven't heard anything of it since so I could be wrong.
@slipkick01 I'm 100% sure they said this. You will be able to put a Screenshot in your cabin in a picture frame.
I think they were gonna basically make a "paintified" portrait of you in the cabin. Everytime they have opened up for questions I have asked something pertaining to this but my question was never gonna be picked.
Basically, how does ship ownership work? If me and my friends get on do we choose the ship we sail on? Or does everyone contribute something to it? The other thing they can do is a ship name on it. You can see what looks like a nameplate above the cabin entrance.

This is Rare’s take on screenshotting - using this item sees your character render whatever’s onscreen as a gold-framed painting, which exists as an object in everyone’s game, and can be hung up in your ship. “The next time someone crews up on your ship,” Chapman enthuses, “they’re not only saying ‘where did you get that cool sail from?’ they’re also saying ‘when did that happen?’ and you can say ‘that happened 50 voyages ago.’ So the ships and the players start having that sense of history behind them.” It sounds like a fantastically cool way to get players sharing socially in a medium that’s often anything other than social.
