Unfortunately, signatures are a sticky subject. While there's (technically) nothing against them the community has been helpful by keeping them to small text "Sigs" when used at all.
This is because with as busy as topics get during the testing phases, it's a lot easier when members scroll through threads looking for information if they're not seeing signatures instead of information.
It's actually been speculated that once the game is released, we might be able to customize our profile and (again, possibly) add a flag or signature there.
(Neither of those options have been officially stated so they're still just speculation.)

I may try to forcefully reduce the image size so that it works more like a thumbnail!
A thumbnail might help but, if you really want to use it, there are ways to use a custom image as your GT picture.
Maybe that would work until you could add it "officially" to your profile? At the very least, it would start getting people to associate it with you which is basically the point, right?
@scottishgrog To have custom gamer pictures you need to download the Xbox App and you can change it on that :)
It's how i got mine, @Andrew-Valiant designed the flag for me and I use it as my profile pic and wait with fingers crossed for the day i may be able to hoist it on my ship :)
