Making the game unplayable

  • We’re having a situation where a group of people is making the game unplayable.

We started streaming on YouTube and met a ship crew who said they wanted to become friends. We sent them a friend request and joined their guild.

After that, they started following us in every stream. At first it was fine, but it became annoying, so we attacked them. Now they keep joining and ruining the gameplay. We didn’t invite them, and we already left the guild, but they still keep joining us.

We’re looking for a solution. Is there any way to play without them? Also, how does player matchmaking/server connection work? Does the game place players from the same region into the same server?

We would also like to know if there’s a way to completely ignore or avoid them.

At this point, we basically can’t play the game because of them, and we even had to stop the livestream as well.

If you have your ship set to "open crew", they'll be able to join. You might want to turn that option off. You can also block people you don't want to hear from anymore. Also, leave the guild.

  • Leave guild.
Block using whatever blocking system you have. (Xbox/PS/Steam). That way they can’t see your activity as well

At this point of reading it seems the answer is clear but some reason you chosen this route.

  • We did play in a closed crew, and they are not on the Xbox friends list. They basically somehow connected to the server we were playing on. and we have contacted the Sea of Thieves support team, and we are currently waiting for an answer.
