I'll be honest, I've been thinking about doing some HG grinding again because I've been getting into more streamlined and competitive gaming again through Deadlock, but as it stands right now, it's not feasible for me to download Sea of Thieves due to its massive Steam download size. I believe this is the 2nd largest download size for all the games I have in my Steam library, the first being the full download of Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2.
I'm not sure how feasible this option would be, but one of the ways Space Marine 2 was able to reduce the game's overall download size was by making the highest texture settings optional free DLC to download with the game. This reduced the game's file size by over 100 gigabytes, while still keeping the textures there for anyone who would want to use them.
This has also been a reason I have been unable to download and test Insiders for a long time, as the game's download size is too large for me to have two copies of it on my PC while still having other games and software downloaded.
User Edit: Poor wording on my part, but I said "not sure about the feasibility of this" because I'm not too sure if this is even why the game is so big. It could be asset bloat or other reasons I'm not familiar with. All I do know is the game is HUGE
