Two feature requests

  • On the Event Hub page, as well as in-game!!! should be an event calendar that people can look at at a glance to see what is going on in the game currently, as well as the near and not-too-distant future. I never have ANY clue what is going on, or what is coming up/when, especially when dates commonly get shifted around on release dates and other events/activities.

Second request is more for the US player base, which is to instead of only posting times in UTC, post them in ET and/or PT for US players to have an easier grasp on when things start and end. It gets confusing trying to know what time it is, based on the fact that with time changes twice per year in the US, it's always like, "an I supposed to add 6 hours today? 7? uhhh...no idea, guess I have to go google it for the thousandth time."

tldr: make the game more inviting for players to actually want to play by creating an event/release calendar, as well as posting times for other places besides the UK.

  • Or just be surprised by the events that appear when you play.
And as a Us player, it’s not hard to figure out or even convert time. Your phone can do it

This is a quality of life request, it helps with making things more accessible to players. Honestly I don't see a problem with this being added. Really though, we shouldn't be an ableist here.

  • @burnbacon

I can see you go to the school of "everyone else should play the game exactly as I do."

I guess I'm glad you're not in charge. Whet exactly would it take away from the game by making it more accessible and player-friendly? By your rationale everything in the world should just be announced as UTC "just cuz" and people would just have to adjust to it. The VAST majority of people in any given time zone prefer seeing times for things listed IN their time zone. Difficult concept for some apparently.

Also, by your rationale, they shouldn't announce anything at all, and everything should "just be a surprise" when logging in.

  • @glimmerbitz

No need to be rude, kid. Just because someone disagrees doesnt mean, as you put it, "Should play how you want to play."
    Happy to be of help.

Idk the meaning of "whet" but moving on.,
Nothing, but you can add anything to this game with flashy pop ups and annoying screens and people will still not know what is happening. I mean..it already ingame/Main menu already what is going on, you can even talk to NPC to find out events and where to go. But that just not enough it seems.

By your rationale everything in the world should just be announced as UTC "just cuz" and people would just have to adjust to it.

Or they can be smart and use there SmartPhones. Everyone has one these days and takes 3 seconds to google or even ask Alex/Siri to do it for you since it such a chore. Everything has to be made easier, and easier than it already it. But..that just how the world works.

they shouldn't announce anything at all, and everything should "just be a surprise" when logging in.

Frankly yes, it makes the game more exciting to Discover and be amazed by what the world is offering.
Mystery of the X marks the spot and finding you dug up a Chest of Fortune, or finishing a Fort and there was a Mega stash randomly spawned.

Not knowing gives you a thrill. But if you need a handout, yellow paint and some other form of Big Arrow pointing you in the direction. By all means.

The VAST majority of people in any given time zone prefer seeing times for things listed IN their time zone.

The majority of people cant grasp a simple direction when its given to them and would complain about it instead, but that just how things are. xD

Disagree on the requirement, that is all. You didnt need to reply to me if you have such hateful words.
After all, your just giving your feedback to a public forums, not everyone is on the same page with different minds.

  • Today is a PERFECT example of why a calendar would be super useful. A week ago today, Rare posted a YouTube video for Last Ship Standing, announcing it for today, 5/14. I looked forward to it for the past week, fired up Twitch this morning to watch/see the new game mode, and everyone is playing Subnautica 2. I go to YouTube to see if Rare posted any addition update videos...none. Ended up asking ChatGPT about it, to find out it's been postponed for another week. Players shouldn't have to jump through a bunch of hoops trying to figure out how/when to play the game. To be clear, the point here isn't that the date got pushed out, it's that having a single place that people could go look to see what is happening in the game (and when) would be extremely helpful to a lot of players.

Also, the doubloon situation. With the Bilge Rat Weekender being the only realistic way to earn a decent amount of doubloons for many players, not having a clue about when they can expect to be allowed to earn doubloons just leaves people feeling apathetic about the whole thing. "jUst SiGn iN aNd bE sUrPiSeD" for an event that lasts 3 days out of 45+ is great for the 1% of players who want to track every day to see if there's something they have to sign in to do in the game that day or not. (And yes, I'm aware that players could raise Reaper emissary to turn in 160 reaper chests at level 5 and not have to worry about the Bilge Rat Weekender events in order to earn their 4,000 doubloons.) Again, the point here is that a calendar would be extremely helpful to a lot of players.
