Hi, returning player after a 3-season break here.
Maybe this suggestion has been made a million times - and it might be obvious - but it still apparently is an issue 3 seasons later.
The Current State:
Smugglers' loot is trash.
Aside from commendations -and ignoring the two crazy people in the back of the classroom who feel like smugglers' voyages are fun- they are worthless.
Not because of their raw values (13k for a barrel of powder is crazy), but because of how annoying they are to sell.
The Lore:
There is NO logical or lore reason Reapers wouldn't buy those. In fact:
"The Reaper's Bones stand for 'True Piracy', seeking out the toughest, most ruthless pirates on the seas. For this end, the Reaper's Bones are willing to reward Pirates for any Treasure, stolen or found, that they bring in."
Isn't an "Exquisite Painting" a "Treasure"?
In their current state, smugglers loots are both frustrating AND lore-breaking at the same time.
I mean, Reapers will buy Rum, but not "Floral Rum" or "Golden Rum"? They only like the bad stuff? Let’s be real.
Value Issue with Reaper's Emissary:
I am aware that making Reapers buy smugglers' loot would raise a new issue. A 13k barrel would sell, as is, at 32.5k (with Emissary V) which would make smugglers even more irrelevant.
This is easily fixed:
- Divide smugglers items base price by 4 (a 1,000 gold painting would now cost 250 base).
- Add a +300% bonus when selling items to Smugglers (1000/4 +300% = 1,000 again).
- Allow smugglers item to be sold at base price at Reaper's Hiddeout
This would ensure smugglers' items are still worth more when sold to Smugglers than to Reapers (even with the +150% Emissary V bonus, 250+150% =625).
You could even create a simple but effective commendation like "Sell 30 stolen smugglers loot to Reapers Hiddeout" with a simple Title like "Smuggler Stealer" or something.
I don't know, how hard could this be...?
