- Hourglass Improvements
-Crate Organization:
A commonly shared point among players I’ve spoken to is the current arrangement of supplies inside the recently added hourglass crates. Simply switching the order of pomegranates and mangos would already be a meaningful quality-of-life improvement, as this is typically the first adjustment players make after each fight. Additionally, reconsidering the inclusion of firebombs and scattershots could further streamline supply management.
Shrinking Battle Area:
While restricting players from disengaging indefinitely is important, the current implementation of the shrinking border feels problematic. A reduced combat zone is beneficial in principle; however, fights being decided by border pressure — where a ship may be destroyed due to unfavorable RNG despite an otherwise balanced engagement — can feel frustrating and unfair for everyone involved. A more balanced scaling approach may help preserve competitive integrity.
-Environmental Interference:
Weather conditions such as storm and fog interfering with Hourglass matches can negatively impact the competitive experience. - Performance (duh)
-Stability Issues:
Following recent updates, there appears to be a noticeable decline in performance consistency. This includes significant stuttering, unsmooth feeling and poor 1% lows, even when overall FPS remains high (e.g., capped at 120/144, or even server sided cap at 300).
-Movement and Server Sync:
Issues such as rubber banding and inconsistent jump registration seem to have increased. After returning from a longer break, these problems feel more pronounced and negatively affect gameplay responsiveness. - Additional Quality-of-Life Improvements
-Weapon Switching & ADS Timing:
Despite improvements to weapon switching (love it btw), there is still a timing inconsistency: players can often aim down sights before being able to fire. This creates a disconnect between visual readiness and actual shooting capability. Aligning ADS timing with the moment a weapon becomes ready to fire would improve clarity and responsiveness.
-Northwest Wave Behavior:
The current wave patterns when facing northwest result in inconsistent cannon aim and frequent loss of angle. This behavior feels unintuitive and detracts from the
competetive/overall gameplay experience.
-Surfacing Bug in Hourglass Matches:
A recent issue allows players to move during the surfacing phase of Hourglass matches. This can lead to unintended advantages, such as raising sails or adjusting the ships wheel earlier than the opposing crew.
These points reflect recurring feedback from multiple players and highlight areas that may not always receive as much attention, but still have a meaningful impact on gameplay quality.
Of course, there are additional topics worth discussing — such as wardrobe saving — though these already seem to be receiving sufficient attention from the community.
Best regards.
