Improve PvP Combat by Restricting Jumping During Actions
@burnbacon yeah that's fair lol, an option to turn it off would be great in my opinion, just in case
@rambobrad true, movement is definitely a tactic and im not against that, for me its more about how fights feel, when you expect a sword fight or ship battle and it turns into people bouncing around while eating coconuts and reloading, it can feel less like a fight and more chaotic than intended,
im not saying remove jumping, just add some commitment during certain actions so those moments feel more intentional, an option to toggle it or limit it in certain modes could be a good middle ground@d1m3adoz3n When someone jumps their movement is very predictable until they land. I would say it's less chaotic than strafing.
I only forsee this being a bad idea.. Simply put, there's not enough in the combat system to justify this drastic of a change. Sea of Thieves is built in this very responsive, arcade-y way to facilitate it's gameplay. You really don't want your players to have to be overly aware of when and where an entire button on their controller/keyboard is going to stop functioning all-together. I've played games that have tried this, and it's always made the game itself feel unresponsive, and just worse feeling to play all around.
You really have to design the game from the beginning around something like this, not introduce it this many years after the fact.
