Surprisingly incompetent soulflame crew

This story is from about a week into season 13
So I’m playing with some friends, we get the burning blade and we decide to go for it because we had gotten it day one but hadn’t found it again until now. We capture it and start farming rituals. Then, about 3 rituals in a brig shows up and immediately attacks. We fire back and eventually demast them. I choose to board while my friends bucket the ship and keep pressure on them with cannons. I see they’ve got the soulflame crew set and I panic. For context, I’m a ps5 player who started mid season 12. I one blunder one of them, then, instead of switching to sword, I for some reason choose to loop them around the map table while I reload. They both chase me with swords instead of just using a gun and shooting over the table. I reload the blunderbuss, one-blunder the second crewmate and go for the guy wearing the captain outfit (the only one I can tell for sure worked for it) and I sword fight him. He decides that now is the time to use his gun and he tries hipfiring an eor. He missed, obviously, and I just kill him with my sword. By the way, the other guys respawned during this 1v1. One of them got one balled. The other tried to fix the mast instead of the various holes in the lower deck. To this day I’m still flabbergasted how I, a player who had only played for half a season. 1v3’ed with blunderbuss and sword, and won against someone who’s beaten fotd 25 times, and I won by running around a map table. Actually hilarious.
