@luomu1765 you get the extra for running a reaper emissary flag which emissary flags are not allowed on safer seas nor reapers in general.
Emissaries are and always have been a risk/reward choice.
by proclaiming your allegiance to a company and your intent on collecting treasure on their behalf, you are also letting everyone else know you may have a lot of treasure of a certain type.
without other players, there is little to no risk, therefore, emissary play is not a feature of safer seas.
If, however, the game enters an end-of-life phase, I hope all restrictions to be lifted off of safer seas, with players being able to self-host servers.
Things to note about Ashen chests/keys:
- The chest has a base value of 5 doubloons locked or open.
- The chest (if dug up from an Ashen Guardian map) always has at least 1 tome in it, tomes have a base value of 10 doubloons.
- The chest also has a chance for a ritual skull, and a second ashen tome Each with a base value of 10 doubloons. (The best combo is: 2 tomes and a ritual skull + the empty chest will get you a base value of 35 doubloons)
In short; Always open your ashen chests rather than selling the locked chest and key. You'll get between 5 and 25 more doubloons for opening it and selling the empty chest + contents.
