@bumpy-bones sounds like somebody who’s upset because they won’t get it their way for not putting in the work. If you really must know, I am a long time server hopper/ PvP player. I’ve earned 110k+ plus doubloons and I’d say about 90 percent or more has been from server hopping stealing loot. Caving to you guys who are complaining isn’t fair, 4 out of the 5 doubloon items are extremely cheap for people like you, and you’re upset over 1 item. Give it a rest. Like I said go sell 2 reapers chest and you can earn the “doubloon hoarder” title. lol
I'm going to paint a hypothetical to show you the problem with the previous proposition. If they had left it the same...
Player A has 54,050 doubloons. That's all they've ever had and they've never spent a single doubloon on anything. Nothing to do with PvP, they've just earned that passively from Commendations, the season passes, and selling some loot. They could afford everything.
Player B has only 500 doubloons left, but over the years their lifetime earnings has been well over 100K. They converted a ton to gold during boosted weekends, and bought all the items they could with them, because what else would they spend it on? Player B would not have been able to get many of the rewards, despite having earned a lot more than Player A.
Rare neglected the doubloon economy but still left the means to "dump" doubloons (convert) in the game. And a lot of players used that system.
This is why it was changed.
