S-18 update & Release Notes 3.6.0 Issues & Feedback Thread

  • Following the most recent update 3.6.0 for S-18 - and comparing the patch notes to the in-game experience:

    1. Reaper's Chests - Are RB Chests & Bounties still NOT part of the FoTD loot pool following the update in S-17?

    2. "Reducing Emergent Encounters During Naval Battles:
      Crews engaging with rivals in naval combat will find that ambush threats like Skeleton Ships and Megalodons are now reduced in frequency. While these unpredictable encounters can still occur, they will now be much less frequent, allowing crews to remain focused on their rivals." What defines "Naval Combat" if that's HG then I have yet to test, but I can say with 100% certainty that not only does the emergent Skelly ship & Kraken rate seem lowered with multiple ships "nearby" but it actually fells like it was increased. On Sunday we had 4-5 ships sailing together for a few hours and had 10-15 Skelly ships and 4 Krakens spawn on us in that time...

  • It must be when your activity firing and hitting another ship. Or hourglass fights.

    But idk. I havnt had a single npc threat emerge on me and im disappointed. I see them from afar and other players fighting. But not me.

    I don't think sailing together or being in proximity would count as naval combat. You'd have to be dealing damage to each other within whatever timeframe they are considering as being 'in combat'.

    They have been so far except today. Today they weren’t for me and there weren’t any on the map elsewhere so it wasn’t that too many were in play. Maybe it’s a bug that is going to pop up now that they coded them out for a season.

  • What constitutes naval combat?

    It would be nice if official communications and announcements used a standardized set of terms or phrases like... in an active HG battle, having HG voted on your ship, taking damage from or inflicting damage to an opposing crew or ship, or in close proximity to danger (whatever the minimum distance is that you'd see the 'Cannot Dive, Danger Nearby' prompt on the voyage table is)...

    things like that are specific and measurable - especially for testing in insiders - if they're looking for player feedback on such things they announce
