I was playing for like a entire hour, searched 4 devil's roar islands via gold hoarder treasure map for the devil's roar and found NO coffin, like if your gonna make new content, make the content PLAYABLE, like a level 55 raid voyage or increased chances in the devil's roar, because this act is literally season 17 all over again because now I'm getting suspicious that the eternal guard was removed from the game because I'm not seeing anything no matter how much I search for it.
Why can't I find the Eternal Guard?
Got to calm a little down.
Getting heated because of a day 1 new season addon and not getting to experience the new stuff in just a hour. Just enjoy the other stuff while you search all over first. Breath then try againYour not only one sailing these waters. Could also be a weird spawn timer between guards or how many can spawn.
They are defo there. But the spawn rate seems a little wonky. Also I'm finding when you have a banished trident you are relentlessly attacked by skelly boats, until you sink. Then you can’t find the tridents, birds, or any loot you had? No matter how quick you are. Or you can’t find the eternal guards, when you finally have a trident to speed up the long and tedious fight. We had one that we defeated, then the coffin immediately reset on the same island. And another where the boat was volcanoed. And when we got back the fight had de spawned?

That's not that long.
Sail around, do 3 Ashen Chest dig dives. Cannon over islands and look for the PURPLE HAZE.
If there is another ship in the Roar they are probably also searching for them(or may have just completed one). Try and get the Roar to yourself.I've found 7 in 2 sessions.
Just finished 4 back to back, sailing between those large islands and waiting around for Volcanos to stop exploding.
Like the early days when those Mermaid statues were introduced, just sail around the large islands slowly, looking for the Purple Mist, they often spawn near any ammo crate spawns or Near where you can park your ship.
I suspect when they spawn on islands they don't despawn like loot does. There are a few items in this game that function this way. IE the canons of rage once setup on an island stay there. The beacons on islands stay lit ETC. Not sure if the coffins try to spawn on islands near active players but while there is a higher spawn chance in the devils roar you might need to find them on the old islands first then they will start popping up in the roar more.
Rarethief claims there is a limited number of them that can spawn per server. So if that's true AND they don't despawn after spawning you will have to go hunt for them. I didn't have the desire to test out if they despawn over time but if anyones bored they can load up safer seas find one and sail away for 2 hours and come back to see if its still there? I found one on Wanderers, Shipwreck, Crooks. Then they finally started spawning in the Devils Roar for me.
