PvP Security NEEDED!! We Keep getting Rolled Up on and can't turn anything in. IF You're a PVP God we need your help!!!!

  • I am a Returning Pirate legend, been back about a month ish, my girl is new to the game and working on getting to pirate legend.

We run anything we can including Athena.

But for whatever reason the last 2 weeks we CANNOT turn ANYTHING in.

    It's a serious problem.

Every single time we finish something, we get rolled up on by expert players.

That are either pros, hacking, or using exploits. Because they seem unkillable and kill us with ease so fast we can't do anything. And take hours of play from us.

We're basically at our breaking point right now.

Which is unfair because safer seas sucks hard, you can't play even half of the game on that.

So we're forced to deal with toxic players. I say toxic because often they don't even want our stuff, they just want to continuously kill us and spam "roll on Deck laughing".

We simply cannot escape these types of players lately. Idk if it's the new season or what but you can't complete anything.

    Can't do skeleton camps
    Can't do forts
    Can't do siren raids
Can't do ghost ship can't do skeleton lords
    Can't do any emissary
    Can't do tall tales..

    You can't do anything.

Cus all we do is waste time for someone with ample time on their hands to come and screw with us.

We don't have HOURS to play.

We enjoy other aspects of the game.

We shouldn't have to deal with this as much as we do, particularly when it's not even about taking our loot or getting a commodation, it's literally just because they want to troll us. (Pretty clear when our loot is still in the water and they didn't even attempt to get it)

Rare needs to do a better job of matchmaking people on servers.

Veterans should not be loaded into the same server as new players.

    Makes no sense at all.

That's like matching somebody on a fighting game with a level 1 versus a level 100. Smdh.

    That's trash matchmaking.

Really wish rare would do something about this. This game is made for 13 and up. My 13-year-old would not be able to play this game, not in its current state. Safer season needs to be the exact same game just without other players. Not some terrible mode that strips half the game from the game itself.

    Something needs to be done.

    But in the meantime,

    We really need some help.

If you're really good at PVP and can help us, we would greatly appreciate it.

Pls DM my Xbox, I try to check this frequently but I don't get notifications for it. I do get notifications for the Xbox app.

Or maybe they are lucky pirates who got good shots on you and, you had bad luck?

I am a Returning Pirate legend

This speaks louder than what most seem to understand, when was the last time you played...

Which is unfair because safer seas sucks hard, you can't play even half of the game on that.

    What can't you do?

Can't do skeleton camps Can't do forts Can't do siren raids Can't do ghost ship can't do skeleton lords Can't do any emissary Can't do tall tales..

Unless Im mistaken, you can do all of these...in Safer Seas.

    You can't do anything.

So you also can't Fish? Fight Back? Earn Renown? Do simple challenges? The words "do anything" is used wildly when its not correct, you can...do anything.

Cus all we do is waste time for someone with ample time on their hands to come and screw with us.

    Pirates being pirates.
    Safer Seas solves this.

We shouldn't have to deal with this as much as we do, particularly when it's not even about taking our loot or getting a commodation, it's literally just because they want to troll us. (Pretty clear when our loot is still in the water and they didn't even attempt to get it)

So what I read here is, they sank you and...you either respawned or watched them sail away without getting your loot. With that information, if your Duo. Someone stays behind to keep the loot a float while other grabs the ship. I dont understand this.

Rare needs to do a better job of matchmaking people on servers.

Veterans should not be loaded into the same server as new players.

There is no Matchmaking. And, haha...So are you not a Vet? or New Player? "Returning Player" = Vet to me. Even so, Alt account and play on servers with rookie players, who might also be Vet players. :P

This game is made for 13 and up. My 13-year-old would not be able to play this game

Made for, played by. Same with Minecraft, Fortnite, CoD, GTA...Online part of the game never adds up.
Im pretty sure they be fine.

Safer season needs to be the exact same game just without other players. Not some terrible mode that strips half the game from the game itself.

What is removed from the game in SS that makes the game worthless? Athena? Reaper? Unable to sail a Captain Ship? :/

Welcome Back "Returning player" your just rusty it sounds and it will all come back to you how to combat these "Toxic=Pirates"

And take hours of play from us.

Turn in more often, that way they only take half an hour or so play from you.

  • @burnbacon you're very clearly trolling and I'm not humoring it. Do your research, also kick rocks.

  • @lem0n-curry we turn in after everything we do, that doesn't stop people from ambushing us when we turn in or attacking us mid fort.

Or worst of all of them getting through a siren raid without having your ship attacked cus it's a sitting duck. Smdh.

Hence why we're asking for People that are good at PVP to help us. And not asking for advice.

The only thing we struggle with is players and the 2 ancient megs. We can handle anything else the game throws at us.

I'm not rusty, there's just a large amount of people on here that are better at PVP than me and clearly not good enough to take on other pvp players because they feel the need to ambush less experienced players rather than idk actually test their PVP skills against other players on their level. Not like the game has PVP events or anything. Oh wait Arena DID exist, if it doesn't still in some form and we have hourglass. But no, they boast how good they are while ambushing players just to screw with them and not even take their loot.

Which clearly I need to State a reminder here that if you actually read the community guidelines, doing such things is against the community guidelines.
You are allowed to sing people for progression, if you are trying to get a commendation or stealing their loot.

It explicitly says in the rules to never Target players. Any actions that can be construed as intentionally ruining the gaming experience for other players. Is a bannable offense.

    It's right on the website.
Very clearly in the community rules.

Yes this is a pirating game, but that is the dumbest excuse anybody uses. There are so many things in this game that are not in this game because this is a game meant for all ages. It's rated t for teen but if you look at the community guidelines it even says that all ages are allowed and that you should conduct yourselves with the behavior befitting that.

It also encourages people not to attack people that are trying to learn, people that are new to the game, in fact it encourages you to help those people.

Yet we just keep running into people trying to defend this toxic behavior.

If you want to PVP people there is events for that.

There's also very obvious signs of who is likely a good Target for PVP like you know if your ship is completely decked out with collectors and Athena stuff and you run into another with similar stuff chances are they're a good person to fight that is going to be perfectly fine with it or at least be able to hold their own.

Not people that are literally asking you not to attack them because they're trying to learn something.

Or people you can tell are just an easy target because they aren't as experienced in the game as you.

That doesn't make you good at the game to take those people out it just makes you trash.

You can defend the bullying all you want, doesn't make it okay.

13 year olds play this game.

Y'all out here like you're actually in the days of piracy.

Yeah you know in real life you couldn't just attack anybody that you wanted to cuz you'd be risking your ship in your crew.
Real pirates only attack people for actual loot or for some type of personal gain.

Not just because they felt like it.

And in real life when that ship manages to kill you you're not able to spawn back on yours and come back on to theirs 2 mins later.

So let's stop with this stupid excuse of it's a pirating game. Smdh.

It's an adventure game. One directed at ages 13 and up. One with community guidelines. More than one of which explicitly tell you not to behave in a toxic manner.

    Smdh.

Don't have anything you want to lose on your ship when you'll be spending a long time away from it; you can put the rewards in a sirene statue and come back for that later.

Hence why we're asking for People that are good at PVP to help us. And not asking for advice.

In that case: use the https://www.seaofthieves.com/community/forums/category/51/find-a-crew sub forum.
Or look into https://www.seaofthieves.com/community/forums/category/137/guild-recruitment forum if there are Guilds that are helpful for your needs.

There is no such limitation in the rules. People can get sunk because others want the supplies, people get attacked because they're at an outpost and the crew wants to turn in safely &c.

From the same community rules you like to quote:

Be a good sport. Sea of Thieves is a pirate game, and stealth, stealing and battles are all part of the fun. All pirates on the seas accept that, but be a good sportsman in both victory and loss.

People are not ruining your gaming experience just because they sink you - that is part of the game.

    From your own post:

The only thing we struggle with is players and the 2 ancient megs. We can handle anything else the game throws at us.

If you want to PVP people there is events for that.

Yeah, world events like forts, fleets &c, indicated for the whole server by a thing in the sky ...

The existance of Hour Glass and Arena before isn't to make Adventure free of PvP.

There's also very obvious signs of who is likely a good Target for PVP like you know if your ship is completely decked out with collectors and Athena stuff and you run into another with similar stuff chances are they're a good person to fight that is going to be perfectly fine with it or at least be able to hold their own.

You know what pirates did... they pretended to be normal merchants ... in SoT they might "disguise" themselves as starting crews with white sails and no special ship cosmetics ...
You're a pirate legend, you must have some athena cosmetics ... they are not an indication if a crew is of a certain PvP quality.

Not people that are literally asking you not to attack them because they're trying to learn something.

Safer Seas seems a good way to learn something about PvE undisturbed ... and then you can use that experience on the High Seas.

At the moment you join a High Seas server you should expect other crews and those crews have every right to fight you over loot & supplies or even learning how to fight another crew.

Or people you can tell are just an easy target because they aren't as experienced in the game as you.

That doesn't make you good at the game to take those people out it just makes you trash.

Trash ? No namecalling is also in the Community rules, I believe.

You can defend the bullying all you want, doesn't make it okay.

Where did I defend bulling, all I said in my first post is "Turn in more often" ...

13 year olds play this game.

Not sure what your point is here. AFAIK they like to (try to) sink other crews as well.

    Smdh.

Sinking other ships is NOT toxic behaviour !!
There are clearly actions that are actually toxic and if you come across people with such behaviour, you can and should report them.

  • Just a reminder of (some of) the unofficial rules of SoT.

No loot is yours, until you cash it in.
50% (at least) of the value of any loot is in the risk of loosing it. (The very season it feels "painful" to loose your loot, mean this risk-reward system works as intended.)
Also raising ANY form of flag is to raise a PvP beacon for everyone to see. (The high rewards (bonus) the flags give, is balanced by the "i have loot" signal the flag gives to all the other players.)

  • @grimkneybc23 hey im no bacon fan, some of his takes are bad but hes right here. Everything they listed they can "do" in safer seas they just want the same reward which is unfair to the people who want to risk it and enjoy the game in the sandbox it was designed for. Also there is no matchmaking in adventure, and limited systems in hourglass.

  • @grimkneybc23 Coming from a "really good pvper" there are things you can do to fight back or atleast be aware of your surroundings so that sinking doesn't keep happening too you. It's so disheartening to see players losing items and decide they would rather blame other people by ascribing their personal moral codes about "leaving people alone" or whatever. Learn from your mistakes, watch the horizon, get into pvp battles every once in a while, atleast stop correlating gold and renown to fun sessions. You might actually find Sea of Thieves is the best unique multiplayer experience out there, not just a loot simulator. If you want a loot simulator go play safer seas and deal with the lost rep, if you actually just enjoy collecting loot then it should be a win because less reputation will give you more of a reason to play.

  • None of you know how to read the rules, or anything I say.

You also don't know how to help clearly either.

There are several rules Clearly posted about behavior towards other players, what constitutes Harassment and so on. But None of you care cus you're just going to continue to try to justify your community guideline violations.

So I really could care less to carry on with any of you.

    You're literally all the problem.

Someone asks for help and you all KNOW SOOOO MUCH, yet not a single one of you are actually responding to help.

    Just to feel superior.

    Smdh.

We Don't Want to Play Safer Seas, We Want to play Higher Seas. PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

AND NO YOU CAN'T GET TO LEVEL 50 REP IN SAFER SEAS.

SO EITHER HELP OR MOVE ON.

NO ONE ASKED FOR YOUR OPINIONS.

    WE ASKED FOR HELP.

YOU'RE ALL SO SMART BUT YOU'RE OFFERING NO HELP AT ALL JUST CARRYING ON ABOUT HOW YOU KNOW SOOOO MUCH.

DO I NEED TO GET A MOD OR IS ASKING FOR HELP NOT ALLOWED??

  • @Musicmee seriously, we're just trying to find help to play the game we want.
This is what we're dealing with.

    How is this not bullying/harassment?

We can't ask for help without being ragged on?

Apparently we have to play it their way???

There are clear rules about respecting players, respecting newer players an actual section that says to "never" do the following things and like minded rules above that.

    How is this ok?

  • You can just delete the post at this point clearly we're not going to find help on here. And all we're getting is negative interactions.

  • This has been going on long enough so here comes the, by now, well known words:

The game design and intent for Sea of Thieves is a shared world adventure, and it always will be. Those who wish to play in the confines of Safer Seas will always have the option but we will not bring the rewards and activities in line with those of High Seas when many of the restrictions are in place due to the risk vs reward factor that is inherent in Sea of Thieves - removing any risk means rewards must be balanced accordingly.

Safer Seas will act not only as a safe space for our Tall Tale players but also for families with children who just want to pirate, for people who want to play the game but learn the ropes and it will organically feed into Adventure mode, keeping the player pool there healthy and upskilled as they've learned the mechanics.

This is not only useful for new players but also families and players with accessibility needs - the whole game suddenly becomes available in a way it hasn't before, letting them naturally progress to High Seas and become a Pirate Legend. SoT has grown a huge amount in 5 years and it can be fairly overwhelming.

The borders put in Safer Seas mean that to experience the full depth and breadth of the game you will have to hit the high seas BUT if you're playing with your family you don't have to, you can just enjoy the game and have fun as a family.

    Dropping anchor here.
