Last night, I went online later, in an effort to avoid some of the more Toxic players that frequent the Australian/New Zealand/Asia servers, unfortunately this did not work.
I had noticed during the day, that we had a special voyage available, but you could only complete it on the High Seas, not Safer seas, why RARE decided to do this, well I think the reason is
very obvious. This is a sort of Golden ticket deal, one or two players will be lucky enough to find something special, so I duly set out on my little cruise and found a scroll, not exciting
for some of you guys, but my first. So, I set sailed to the nearest outpost to drop it off at Sovereigns to see what I might get.
When I approached, there was a sloop parked at the Quayside, it wasn't flying reaper colors so and because I don't PVP at all, I let the Sloop be and started to pull into the anchorage.
Well, it turned out that this outpost apparently belonged to [mod edit] which gave him his justification for what followed.
I noticed his sloop pulling out, which is fare and then he shot himself to within about fifty meters of the rear of my sloop which was in the process of turning, he double shot me from
the water, which was a pretty unbelievable shot tbh, so I resporned and tried to save my ship, just to see what that scroll might be worth. But he'd already rammed my ship, demasted
it and was basically making himself a nuisance. Now up to this point I don't have an issue with what he did, fare play, however, camping at an outpost not so much, to me its just like a
bully waiting outside the school gate.
So I resporned again hoping my ship may have sunk and i could get on with the game, but no, he'd decided to keep it afloat so he could continuously sporn camp me, and his killing
method was pretty amazing, blunderbuss off the ship and shot me again before i'd even hit the water? He did this five times or more, I guess he has a macro or some sort of bot, because he never
missed one shot at all. I asked him how he was doing that and he was too keen to demonstrate it again, but as you can guess on me. I really wanted to get the scroll dropped off so i tried
a few more times, but I'm no match for these types of players.
Now I accept this is a pirate game, but what he was doing now was just sadistic, he had zero empathy , none at all and appeared to take great pleasure in the fact he could kill me at will,
I decided to stay on the Ferryman's ship for a while in the hope he would just let my boat sink, but nope, he came there are just continued to belittle and harass me telling me to quit, or skuttle
my boat and that i was too old to play a game of this nature.
I advised him I was going to report him for Toxic play and he said I don't care RARE won't do anything and he was right.
I filled out the arbitrary report form on the Xbox, it gave me a number, but knowing nothing would come of it I decided to drop one directly to support.
I clearly described what had happened, broke down what had occurred, but they wanted video proof, which of course like most players I just don't have access too.
Their end response was "we will not be investigating this further as there is no supporting evidence"
So [mod edit], you were right, you can continue to harass and bully players, intimidate and create anxiety in them that you seem to feed on, because RARE
will not support anyone who does not have video evidence of what occurred. So you are good to go, every time I logon, I will have to deal the with anxiety of
bumping into you again, so you can have your fun as Bully's often do, working under the radar, intimidating, scaring and destroying other players enjoyment.
As I have said to RARE, it would appear that your customer support, is more of a thing you are supposed to have rather than something you place value in.
RARE sees the game a totally PVP, forcing PVE players onto live servers as purely cannon fodder for the likes of Narcissists like [mod edit], The gift
of the Special Voyage, which you are only allowed one shot at, is purely bait to entice PVE and PVP players off the Safer Seas, which you obviously
hate to keep the numbers up on PVP servers so PVP's can have their fun at the PVE player's expense.
By inaction, you condone Bullying, Harassment and Toxic Play Styles that have resulted in thousands of players leaving the game, your end users.
you should support your whole community base, both PVP and PVE players and provide them with a safe environment where they can explore
this game without fear and anxiety, then you may recover some of those who have cast this game to one side because of the Toxicity that currently
exists within a minority it's community and you are unfortunately unwilling to do anything about.
