As you might’ve seen, as of today, Sea of Thieves now features Enhanced Headphone Mode, powered by Immerse. This spatial audio upgrade brings the world to life like never before and delivers a full 360°, precise audio experience..
This audio experience allows you to hear every detail of your adventures: the creak of enemy ships, the splash of approaching boarders, and even the roar of distant cannon fire with pinpoint spatial audio.

For those of you keen to give the new spatial audio experience a whirl, then here are the steps you need to take in-game to switch it on:
Getting Started:
- Head to Settings > Enhanced Headphone Mode
- Start a free trial of Personalised Profile for maximum immersion or select Generic Profile for a ready-to-go spatial experience
- Put on your headphones and experience the world come alive
While the Generic Profile offers an upgraded experience accessible to all players for free, it is tuned to the average listener. However, the Personalised Profile offers an experience tailored to your ears, head shape and specific headphones. Purchasing and unlocking the Personalised Profile also bags you the delightful (and exclusive!)
Coconut Headband cosmetic for your in-game pirate too.
