Reaper Forts

  • I feel like, with the delay of season 18, (provided that reaper forts will still be in the game until its release), diving to reaper forts should no longer be an option. The amount of times I have sailed 85% of the map to get to a reaper fort and either fought ships for hours or completed the whole thing, and watched the vault door lower down and left the game immediately upon seeing the loot, is insane. People are constantly diving to them to either try and get the small chance of getting a mega stash or because they are doing the commendations, and it is basically just wasting time for so many players who sail there for 30 mins because they want some cofs or other loot in general, but end up with the loot from someone else’s dived-to reaper fort who has just sailed away or left the game. If they want the mega stash to be a low chance then just increase the chance of getting a fort with 1 chest of fortune, cos mega stashes are definitely more common than those (from my experience anyway).

I feel like this change would also make sense considering reaper forts as a whole were meant to be removed after the end of season 17, so people should have expected to, and were intended to, have to do the commendations within a month anyway.

If the idea of keeping cofs in there for this long is bad (in case people just grind out loads of reaper forts to get their fortunes favour commendation maxed out) then change the loot up a bit, or make variants with other amounts of cofs.

I have literally spent cumulatively about 16+ hours doing forts that someone else dived to and then sailed away cos they saw what was in the vault through the dying glitch thing, or just sank and gave up or something.

I don’t really see how anyone could be very annoyed at this change bc reaper forts were meant to end soon anyway, and the reason they aren’t is because rare messed up again and took too long with season 18, so they may as well switch up the loot and remove the method people would use to grind out the new comms anyway. Also the least they could do considering the delays is make everyone’s lives that much easier by removing unnecessary hours spent completing/fighting over reaper forts only to get some shiny blue crates and a couple of trinkets.

  • Agree.
The reaper fort should be locked so it cannot be "transformed "into a normal fort or another event when someone wanna Dive to a raid
And If you wanna dive to it then go to safer Sea and do it.

    It's annoying now

  • It is indeed annoying. I feel you.
I believe the option to dive to the quest was added for people who wish access to the world event to work on their commendations, so they don't need to server hop for a chance to find it, and have slightly less strain the servers.

I think its counter productive however, as while I do think its generous that people have a 25% chance to find a Stacked Fortress, it feels like we're intentionally shooting the game in the foot by leaving behind a bunch of raid forts for other players to find.
Real issue here is player behavior, and I don't commendation hunters should be punished for it. Since people already have found a way to look inside the fort, maybe they just removed the chance for events to Stacked if its a raid?

  • I think the best Option is to exclude the new fort to transform into a raid Event.
And why should it be a Problem for commendation hunters to do this in safer Sea? Did it too.

  • All raid voyages should be gone as they corrupt the original good loot pool. Unless they differ the clouds for raid versions so people know there is nothing to catch.

  • I agree the problem, as solution i would rather there be an indication of a dive to event as this issue isn't unique to this event.
