Back in Season 15, we were told there were plans of a new Sea Serpent. However, if memory serves me right, they didn't have the time to do it the justice they wanted to do it.
Instead, we were given Quantity over Quality. More tasks based on pre-existing framework in-game to give players more to do to make the game feel full. The same can absolutely be said about the loot from Smugglers Tide this Season.
I think instead of pushing lots of content based on pre-existing framework to fill the season up with content, the devs should take a risk
Create new content with new framework, or modernize old content with extra twists (like the upcoming Hourglass changes).
The reason is simple:
I'd still be fighting the Sea Serpent today
I've been fighting Megs since I joined the Sea in Season 6
Never before seen framework with interesting gameplay mechanics seems to be what wins over players. Bonus points if it pushes any kind of player interaction, violent or not!
