so the act1 & 2 of this season was pretty bland. act3 is certainly the coolest. but you usually have commendations disabled on insiders so it cant even be tested to see they are working and half the time a patch has dropped for the past 8 years they arent functioning as intended on the patch. and the excuse that splitting the season up means more time for bug testing.... well here we are. cosmetic purchasing disabled, commendations not tracking, cant equip the cosmetics if you bought them when you hadnt completed the commendation. i would argue in this instance where you messed up... leave it. fix the commendations sure. but letting people buy and equip the items without meeting the milestones? meh. i looked over the commendations they dont seem like they would have taken more than a day to complete anyway and yet you make a huge deal out of it by disabling them?
season acts isnt working. go back to 1 big drop.
to add more to my point here.... rare had gotten into a pattern of updating once a month. so when they did the 1 big season drop and bugs that were present (unless really game breaking) wouldnt be addressed till the next months patch.
the issue now is they are still in that 1 update a month mindset and then each patch is coming out broken with things to fix and now that they are reintroducing gross time limited events they either have to say "meh, oh well, sucks to be the player haha" or... "panic! we gotta fix this asap!!! theres only 4 weeks left to get this fomo!!!" i think early days of sea of thieves they patched on tue like most other games. or maybe it was weds? but it started getting pushed further out. now this thursday release schedule kinda puts them in even more of a pickle when bugs happen they have what a day and a half to try and figure out the issue before the weekend?
having these new ship cosmetics tied being commendations, then forgetting to actually lock them to the commendations. so solution? well we wanted people to have to EARN them not just buy them with their massive stash of gold..... so lets disable purchasing.... then not fix the issue for a week.
so a lot of people probably completed most of the requirements to buy the whole set over the weekend. but now no one can buy them because for some reason gate keeping things behind commendations is cool?
