Why is it when a skeleton sloop is about to sink it always rams directly into me and then drops its loot directly under my ship, which in some edge cases (anchor balled, mast down, or getting physically blocked by another skeleton ship) causes the Smuggler's keg to spawn into my hull, instantly killing me and thus sinking my ship as well. I understand this is somewhat of an edge case, but it genuinely feels like an avoidable death when it happens, especially when playing solo. This has happened to me like 10 times now with this feature, despite me actively trying to avoid it. When getting aggroed by a skeleton sloop, I always aim for where the keg is usually stored, with cannonballs or firebombs in the hope of setting it off preemptively to prevent an unavoidable death. However this never works and even when I've pelted a skeleton ship with 10 firebombs, hitting in various areas (even below deck before I've put any holes into it) they never seem to detonate and thus I get a guaranteed death + sink because of the massive explosion radius.
If anyone else has had this issue, I would be delighted to know I'm not suffering alone.
