The most frustrating part of the game has to be the 5 minute loot sink timer

  • If you're playing in a group and your ship sinks, it forces somebody to stay behind and keep touching the loot to reset the timer or load it into a rowboat. That's annoying for starters, especially on a galleon when the extra hand could be useful for sailing. But if you're playing as a solo and you sink, you rarely have the opportunity to get your loot back, it depends on how far away you spawn and it's so infuriating. Why does it have to sink so fast?? It should be 15 minutes so you have time to raise your emissary again and you can sail back to it even in dead wind. I worked so hard for all my loot soloing Flameheart's fleet just to get one-balled and sunk by a stupid skele sloop.

  • Also wouldn't it be a nice experience to see random player loot in the game more often? You rarely ever see player loot floating around because it sinks so fast. If it didn't sink as fast I could feel better about quitting the game knowing someone out there probably found and took my loot. That's better than nobody but Davy Jones having it, and all my time and effort being for nothing!

  • @aj-deadshow What's worse, the more loot, the faster the timer.. if you sink someone with a megastack, some loot will start sinking after just a few seconds

  • depends on how far away you spawn and it's so infuriating.

Yeah and a lot of people tend to sink and spawn one island away. Sooo…

To be fair, I think Rare would also want loot to stick around longer if they could. But server performance is already terrible, and players like to stack tons of loot in this game. If you have a big enough stack, you can crash a server when you sink from all the loot loading in at once.
