I think that we should be allowed to use our personal captained ships in Safer Seas, but I don't think we should be allowed to earn any ship milestones or captaincy commendations in Safer Seas and those should be kept locked to High Seas.
Just allowing us to use our captained ships in Safer Seas would allow players to customize our ships with the cosmetics we've unlocked in High Seas, purchase captained ship supplies from the shipwright (which is highly necessary for playing Sea Of Thieves), repair our ship at the shipwright, and sell our loot to the sovereign (which is nothing more than a convenient way of selling loot that isn't as difficult as carrying the loot to each of the NPCs)
Obviously earning any ship milestones or captaincy commendations of any kind would be disabled in Safer Seas and would only be available in High Seas.
This way we would be able to use our personal captained ships in Safer Seas without bringing any of the activities and rewards in Safer Seas more in line with the activities and rewards in High Seas.
This also would have no affect on the risk vs reward factor that is inherent in Sea Of Thieves as none of the milestones or commendations would be able to be earned in Safer Seas, only in High Seas.
Overall I see no reason why players aren't allowed to use their personal captained ships in Safer Seas when it's clearly possible to allow players to use their personal captained ships in Safer Seas without bringing any of the activities and rewards in Safer Seas more in line with the Activities and Rewards in High Seas.
So Rare, Please allow your players to use their personal captained ships in Safer Seas.
